This open category welcomes short films directed or co-directed by women. Submissions may include fiction, documentary, experimental, or animation works that reflect the creative vision and authorship of women in contemporary cinema.
There are no restrictions on theme or genre. The festival’s selection is not limited to films addressing subjects of femininity or gender; rather, it upholds the principle that women are essential creative voices capable of shaping cinema across all genres and forms.
Submission fees apply due to the small size of our curatorial team and are intended to ensure that all submissions are made with intention and commitment to participating in this event.
Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
