The 1st CURTA CINE 2025 – Sumaré Film Festival will be held on August 1, 2 and 3, 2025, in the city of Sumaré, São Paulo, Brazil.
This festival aims to strengthen and celebrate the audiovisual ecosystem of Sumaré, the Metropolitan Region of Campinas (RMC) and the country, promoting a democratic space for connection between local, national and international talents. With free screenings, debates and awards, the event seeks to foster cultural diversity, social inclusion and reflection on contemporary issues.

1. ORGANIZATION
The 1st CURTA CINE – Sumaré Film Festival will be held on August 1, 2 and 3, 2025, in the city of Sumaré, São Paulo, Brazil.
This festival aims to strengthen and celebrate the audiovisual ecosystem of Sumaré, the Campinas Metropolitan Region (RMC) and the country, promoting a democratic space for connection between local, national and international talents. With free screenings, debates and awards, the event seeks to foster cultural diversity, social inclusion and reflection on contemporary issues.
2. SCHEDULE
Registration: June 5 to July 4, 2025
Announcement of selected participants: July 14, 2025
Festival: August 1 to 3, 2025
Dates may change depending on organizational needs.

4. REGISTRATION
Free
Registration can be done in two ways: through a form or through the Festhome platform. Registration is required in ONLY one of them.

Requirements:
National films (competitive section) or international films (non-competitive section).
Maximum duration: 25 minutes including end credits
Language: Films with dialogues in Portuguese or a foreign language must have subtitles in Portuguese. Subtitles in LIBRAS are recommended, but not mandatory.
Year of production: From 2023 onwards.
Showing format: Digital (high-resolution file).
5. SELECTION AND DEBATES
The curators will select the films based on criteria of technical quality, narrative and thematic relevance. The decision of the curators, as well as the jury, is final and no appeals are allowed.
There will be a debate of the films after the screenings (which will take place between August 1st and 3rd), with in-person or online participation of representatives of the selected films (recommended).
6. FINAL PROVISIONS
Registration implies authorization for free screening during the festival.
Those selected will be notified by email, WhatsApp and/or phone and announced on the festival's social media.
Omissions will be resolved by the organization.
