Festival start: 23 October 2025      Festival end: 25 October 2025

In this first edition, under this new format, our goal is to open a space for dissemination and encounter for film projects made in Nayarit, which will take place on October 23, 24, and 25. Some of the most outstanding short films from the state of Nayarit will be screened and compete.

The awards ceremony will take place on October 25 during the Tepic International Film Festival, with the Museo de los Cinco Pueblos serving as the main venue. Those responsible for the selected participating short films will be awarded the official selection laurel so that they can use it in the promotional material for their work. The top three places in both categories will be awarded a certificate and a cash prize.

Participation
Participation may be carried out by all interested individuals or, if applicable, by a legal representative. Registration of short films is free of charge, and eligible works are those produced in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The participating categories are:
New Voices: 0–3 years of experience.

Consolidated Voices: More than 3 years of experience.

Short films must be submitted in MP4 format, with a resolution of 1920x1080, and have a minimum duration of 3 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes (excluding credits). The subject matter is free and left entirely to the participant. Subtitles must be embedded in the image.

Documentation
All documentation must be submitted in a single PDF file, including:
Official ID of the representative (or student card, if applicable).

Poster of the short film.

Synopsis (maximum of 5 lines).

Copyright statement signed by the applicant, declaring authorization for the distribution and reproduction of the project.

Private link to the film on Vimeo, YouTube, or Google Drive, protected with a password and with the download option enabled.

Selection and Evaluation
All PDF files will first be reviewed to ensure compliance with the requirements. Projects will then be evaluated by a selection committee, which will choose the top three works in each category.
The jury will evaluate according to the following criteria:
Narrative.

Originality / Creativity.

Emotional and social impact.

Use of cinematographic language.

Technical execution (sound, cinematography, etc.).

At the end of the evaluation stage, the best short films in each category will be recognized by the FICT 2025. Results will be announced on October 20, via email sent to each project representative to confirm attendance.
The jury’s decision will be final and unappealable.

Awards
The awards ceremony will take place on October 25, during the International Film Festival of Tepic, at the main venue: the Museo de los Cinco Pueblos.
Representatives of the selected short films will be granted the Official Selection Laurel, which may be used in their promotional materials. In addition, a certificate and a cash prize will be awarded to the top three places in each category.

Legal Notice
All submitted works must have the necessary permits and/or authorizations from copyright holders and related rights owners, including but not limited to: music, script, set design, voice and/or image rights of actors, singers, and performers.

The festival organization assumes no responsibility for any infringement or violation of copyright or related rights by third parties in the submitted works.

FICT reserves the right to reject any short film that infringes upon federal or state law or promotes hate speech or incitement to violence.

If the short film contains sensitive material, a content warning is recommended. (Example: “This project contains scenes of a sexual nature, drug use, or references to suicide. Viewer discretion is advised.”).

Upon selection, organizers may use excerpts of up to 60 seconds for promotional purposes on social media and/or at the festival venue, with the aim of promoting local content.

By submitting your project, you agree to the rules established in this call.
