MAN!FEST 2025 Rules

MAN!FEST is an independent film festival inspired by the work of writer Jorge Manrique and his famous "Coplas". MAN!FEST is where poetry meets cinema.
The festival will take place November 18 and 19, 2025, in Ciudad Real (Spain).

The event is organized by Daniel Chamorro, a filmmaker with extensive experience, together with his dedicated team. Antonio Lázaro, an expert writer on Jorge Manrique, will serve as honorary president.

1 - PARTICIPANTS

The festival welcomes filmmakers of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. There is no restriction on the number of works submitted by one author. We reject ageism, sexism, racism, and nationalism; the only criterion is quality. As we believe in supporting women's rights, we offer a special award for female directors.

2 – TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

We accept short films (up to 30 min.) and feature films (60 to 130 min.). Works from any year of production and any nationality are allowed.

While we value the social relevance of works, there is a general award where only artistic quality is considered. Comedies, dramas, fiction, video art, and documentaries of any genre are welcome. Works promoting hate or discrimination will not be accepted.

3 - subtitleS

Films may be submitted with Spanish (Castilian) or english subtitles for initial selection. If selected, producers must provide the final screening copy with Spanish subtitles.

4 - SUBMISSION & Awards

The following platforms are available for submissions:

www.festhome.com

The submission period opens on October 9, 2025, and closes on November 9, 2025.

Once submitted, a film cannot be withdrawn from the festival. An entry fee will be required to ensure the quality of submissions and help cover screening and evaluation costs.

Creators will be contacted by email, requested to provide the final screening copy, and notified if they have won any award.

The selection committee will choose the films to be shown in the Festival, as well as the shortlist and winners. All notifications will be made in advance to avoid unnecessary travel costs for creators. The festival will try to help with travel expenses for filmmakers wishing to attend, subject to budget and sponsorship availability.

Prize money totals 1,000 Euros:

Best social short film – Trophy and €200
Best social short film script – Trophy and €150
Best general short film – Trophy and €200

5 – RIGHTS

Films' rights holders grant the festival the right to screen their works during the event. They also allow up to 1-minute extracts to be used for festival promo, television, and/or internet. Promotional photos may be used for this and future editions to promote the festival's history. By submitting, authors certify they have the rights to participate and take full responsibility otherwise.
The MAN!FEST organization reserves the right to modify, expand or cancel any aspect of the festival, including these rules, for justified reasons, unforeseen circumstances, or events beyond its control (such as sponsorship, financial or force majeure issues). All changes will be communicated as soon as possible via official festival channels. Submission implies acceptance of these rules and of any communicated changes necessary for the festival's proper management.

6 – ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

Entry in the Festival means full acceptance of these rules. The festival reserves the right to amend any rule if necessary or declare prizes void if the minimum standards are not met (which has never happened).

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
