The entries must meet every requirement as below.
○ Pre-condition: the first or second feature-length film of the director(s)
○ Running Time(including credits): longer than 40-minute length
○ Date of Completion: after January 2025
○ Premiere status: at least Asian premiere (For films made in Asian countries, the exception is granted if it hasn’t been screened in an Asian country other than the home country.)
Cash Prizes: 29,000$
A. Grand Prize: A cash award of 20 million KRW and a trophy will be given to one film screened in International Competition that contributes to widening the scope and the depth in the contemporary cinema, selected by International Competition jury members.
B. Best Picture Prize: A cash award of 10 million KRW and a trophy will be given to one film screened in International Competition.
C. Special Jury Prize: A cash award of 10 million KRW and a trophy will be given to one film screened in International Competition.
D. NETPAC Award: A trophy and a certificate will be given to one film, which is made in an Asian country by an Asian filmmaker(s), involved in non-competitive sections. Selected by The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC).
* The awards above are described based on the 25th edition of the JEONJU IFF 2025.
1. Organizations
The JEONJU International Film Festival is presented by the JEONJU International Film Festival Organizing Committee and hosted by the JEONJU International Film Festival Executive Committee.
2. Goals
The JEONJU International Film Festival (hereinafter called “JEONJU IFF”) promotes the spirit of independence and experimentalism. We also enthusiastically seek new aesthetic and technological possibilities for contemporary cinema. Therefore, the JEONJU IFF actively introduces audiences to the forward-looking directors and progressive trends of contemporary cinema today.
The JEONJU IFF wants to bring out a rich film culture and further contribute to the growth of Korean cinema.
3. Festival Dates
The 27th JEONJU IFF will be held in Jeonju, South Korea for ten days from Wednseday, April 29 to Friday, May 8, 2026.
* JEONJU IFF enables to change the festival dates under inevitable circumstances.
4. Festival Formats
The 27th JEONJU IFF will proceed with on-site screenings.
5. Eligibility
(1) Based on the running time including the credits, it is classified as a short film with less than 40 minutes and a feature-length film with 40 minutes or more.
(2) All competitive and non-competitive sections may receive all genres of feature-length and short films.
(3) Entries for International Competition must be the first or second feature-length film of the director(s).
* All the co-directors must meet this condition and no exception is allowed.
(4) International Competition entries must be screened in the mentioned period of JEONJU IFF and must have one of the following premiere conditions: Asian Premiere, International Premiere, or World Premiere. And the entries must be made after January 2025.
* All entries should guarantee at least Asian Premiere for International Competition. In case that the submitted work is from an Asian country, the exception is granted if it hasn’t been screened in an Asian country other than the home country.
(5) If the submitted work has been released on SVOD, VOD, DVD, or Blu-ray, it will not be eligible for any of the JEONJU IFF official sections.
(6) A screener and a completely filled-in entry form must be submitted no later than January 19th, 2025, 17:00 (KST) for selection. The screener must be sent as a private link (Vimeo or other File Hosting Services) with a password, and it should not be disclosed to the public.
6. Selection
The films for the JEONJU IFF 2026 will be selected by the festival programmers and the selection committee organized by the festival. Each selected film will be notified individually, and the final list will be announced on a bulletin board of the official website.
7. Cancellation of Selection
(1) When the submitted information is appeared not to be true, the submission can be refused.
(2) It can be refused when it is reckoned that it harms the objective of the festival for the following reasons: The destruction of public order or social customs, sexual violence or harassment, defamation, discriminatory/hate speech or violence, and so on.
