Festival start: 24 April 2026      Festival end: 25 April 2026

The Miau Film Fest was created as a cinematic tribute to one of the most mysterious, free, and charming beings that share our lives: cats. This international short film festival invites filmmakers from around the world to celebrate, through cinema, the feline presence in all its forms: real, symbolic, poetic, or imagined.

Cats have accompanied art since time immemorial. They have been muses, guardians of silence, accomplices of solitude and inspiration. Their independence, infinite curiosity, and instinctive elegance make them authentic cinematic characters: observant, mysterious, unpredictable, and at the same time deeply human.

The Miau Film Fest aims to bring together diverse perspectives on these creatures that inhabit both our homes and our stories. It is also an invitation to recognize their ability to awaken tenderness, humor, reflection, and creativity in us.

More than a festival, Miau Film Fest is an act of love for cats and for cinema as a universal language. A space to celebrate the beauty of everyday life, the freedom of the smallest gestures, and the magic that happens when a cat appears on the scene.

Certificates will be awarded to the Best Short Film in each category.

All films must be submitted via the Festhome platforms.

Registration fees are non-refundable.

We will NOT accept viewing links for screening purposes.

We accept films in MP4 (H.264) Full HD (1080) format.

If the original language of the film is not Spanish, it must have Spanish subtitles, either embedded in the film or sent to the festival's email address in an .srt file.

If the film uploaded to the submission platform does not have Spanish subtitles, the Festival may require an .srt file with synchronized subtitles to be sent by email.

The Festival does not return any materials received, including films and promotional materials (posters, reels, press kits, etc.).

Films must be free of ghost images/logos or other images.

You certify that you are the copyright owner or authorized by the copyright owner to submit the film, that this film is original, contains no advertisements, and has been legally authorized for public exhibition. You are granting permission to use archival material, photographic images, and/or titles, and information from or related to the film for promotional purposes as well.

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
