The Òmnium Film Festival is an annual program that recognizes and promotes the best audiovisual productions in Catalan, offering audiences the finest Catalan-language cinema of the year with the aim of encouraging greater consumption of films in Catalan.
The festival takes place simultaneously with more than 160 screenings in 90 venues across the Catalan-speaking territories, as well as screenings in 35 cities around the world.
It concludes between March and September with screenings in schools and high schools through the Educational Program, digital platform releases (Filmin and 3Cat), and presence at parallel festivals and showcases such as Sala Montjuïc or the Gaudí Cycle.
In addition, the festival strengthens connections with the industry through training resources, networking opportunities, and professional spaces for promotion and reflection, in collaboration with key industry players such as ICEC, the Catalan Film Academy, and 3Cat.
Cash Prizes: 11,500€
Screening Fee Shorts: 400€
All selected short film authors receive €400 fee for being part of the Òmnium Film Festival.

(summary)
1. PURPOSE
Òmnium Cultural organizes this festival with the purpose of encouraging the production of high-quality short films in Catalan, giving value to this format and thereby promoting cinema made in the Catalan language. It aims to contribute to its dissemination and to broaden its audience.
2. PARTICIPANTS
2.1. All original productions recorded in the Catalan language that fall within one of the categories described below and comply with these rules may participate in the Òmnium Film Festival.
2.2. Submitted works must be produced in original version in Catalan. Dialogues, voice-overs and original on-screen text must be in Catalan. Works that include other languages, for reasons of creative freedom and with the aim of reflecting the linguistic diversity of Catalan society, may be accepted, provided that such content does not exceed 20% of the total.
2.3. Submitted works may be fiction or non-fiction in any of their genres or subgenres (including animation and experimental genres). Advertising spots, infomercials and promotional music videos will not be accepted.
2.4. Thematic content is open, but works that convey values contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will not be accepted.
2.5. Productions submitted to the 2026 edition must have been completed between January 1, 2024 and October 2025.
3. CATEGORIES
3.1. There are two categories:
A. Fiction short films. Fiction audiovisual productions with a total duration of less than 30 minutes (including credits).
B. Documentary short films. Non-fiction audiovisual productions with a maximum duration of 30 minutes (including credits).
