The Akida International Film Festival is an annual event held in Seville, Spain, dedicated to showcasing short films from around the world. Established in 2022 by a young filmmaker Nick Kremm, the festival aims to promote emerging talent and celebrate the art of short filmmaking.

In addition to film screenings, the Akida International Film Festival organizes conferences and special events that promote inclusivity and cultural exchange. Collaborations with organizations like COCEMFE Sevilla and Fundación Tres Culturas highlight the festival's commitment to social issues and the promotion of diverse voices in cinema.

The festival has garnered support from various Spanish institutions, including Unión Cine Ciudad, the Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, and Sevilla City Office, solidifying its reputation as a significant cultural event in the region.

REGLAMENTO OFICIAL — SEVILLE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Artículo 1 — Ámbito de Aplicación / Scope of Application

Spanish:

El presente reglamento establece las condiciones generales de participación en el Seville International Short Film Festival, de conformidad con los principios de equidad, promoción cultural y proyección internacional del cine independiente.

English:
These regulations establish the general conditions for participation in the *Seville International Film Festival*, in accordance with the principles of fairness, cultural promotion, and international projection of independent cinema.

Artículo 2 — Admisibilidad Geográfica de las Obras / Geographical Eligibility of Works
Spanish:

Podrán participar en el Festival obras cinematográficas procedentes de cualquier país del mundo, sin perjuicio de su origen geográfico o nacionalidad de producción.

English:
Cinematographic works from any country in the world may participate in the Festival, regardless of their geographical origin or production nationality.

Artículo 3 — Admisibilidad Temporal de las Obras / Temporal Eligibility of Works

Spanish:
Serán admitidas a concurso obras que se realizaron máximo 2 años de su inscripción, siempre que se inscriban en la categoría correspondiente y cumplan con el resto de requisitos establecidos en el presente reglamento.

English:
Films with a maximum of 2 years after production shall be eligible for submission, provided that they are registered under the appropriate category and comply with the remaining requirements set forth herein.

Artículo 4 — Exclusividad de Exhibición / Exhibition Exclusivity

Spanish:
Quedarán excluidas de la selección oficial aquellas obras que, a la fecha de su inscripción o durante el período de celebración del Festival, se encuentren disponibles en plataformas de difusión pública o gratuita por internet, tales como YouTube, Vimeo (en modo público), redes sociales u otras de naturaleza análoga.

English:
Films that, as of the date of their submission or during the period of the Festival, are available on public or free online streaming platforms, such as YouTube, Vimeo (public mode), social media, or other similar channels, shall be excluded from the official selection.

Artículo 5 — Duración de las Obras / Film Duration

Spanish:
Solo serán admitidas obras cuya duración sea igual o superior a cinco (5) minutos e igual o inferior a veinticinco (25) minutos, incluidos los créditos iniciales y finales.

English:
Only works with a total runtime equal to or greater than five (5) minutes and equal to or less than twenty-five (25) minutes, including opening and closing credits, shall be admitted.

Artículo 6 — Categorías del Festival / Festival Categories

Spanish:
El Festival se estructura en diferentes categorías temáticas o de formato, determinadas anualmente por la organización. Cada obra deberá inscribirse en una única categoría, pudiendo esta ser:

a) Ficción
b) Documental
c) Estudiantil

La organización se reserva el derecho de reasignar la obra a una categoría distinta si lo considera oportuno.

English:
The Festival is structured into thematic or format-based categories, as determined annually by the organizers. Each film must be submitted to a single category, which may be:
a) Fiction
b) Documentary
c) Student Films

The organizers reserve the right to reassign a film to a different category if deemed appropriate.

Artículo 7 — Procedimiento de Inscripción / Submission Procedure

Spanish:
Las inscripciones deberán realizarse a través de la plataforma oficial del Festival o mediante los medios designados por la organización. La inscripción implica la aceptación total e incondicional del presente reglamento.

English:
Submissions must be made through the Festival’s official platform or by the means designated by the organizers. Submission implies full and unconditional acceptance of these regulations.

Artículo 8 — Derechos de Exhibición / Exhibition Rights

Spanish:
El participante declara poseer todos los derechos de exhibición, reproducción y comunicación pública de la obra. Al inscribirse, otorga al Festival el derecho no exclusivo de proyectar la obra durante el evento, así como en actividades promocionales vinculadas a esta edición.

English:
The entrant declares to hold all exhibition, reproduction, and public communication rights of the submitted film. By submitting, the entrant grants the Festival the non-exclusive right to screen the film during the event, as well as in promotional activities related to the current edition.

Artículo 9 — Selección Oficial / Official Selection

Spanish:
La selección de las obras será realizada por el comité de programación designado por la organización, atendiendo a criterios de calidad artística, técnica, temática y coherencia con la línea editorial del Festival.

English:
The selection of films will be carried out by a programming committee appointed by the organizers, based on criteria of artistic, technical, thematic quality, and consistency with the Festival’s editorial line.

Artículo 10 — Jurado y Fallo / Jury and Verdict

Spanish:
El jurado oficial estará compuesto por profesionales del ámbito cinematográfico, artístico y cultural, designados por la organización. El fallo del jurado será inapelable.

English:
The official jury shall be composed of professionals from the cinematographic, artistic, and cultural fields, appointed by the organization. The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.

Artículo 11 — Premios / Awards
Spanish:

El Festival concederá los premios establecidos en cada categoría, pudiendo incluir reconocimientos especiales o menciones honoríficas.

The Festival shall grant awards in each category, which may include special recognitions or honorary mentions.

Artículo 12 — Descalificación / Disqualification

Spanish:
La organización se reserva el derecho de excluir cualquier obra que no cumpla con las condiciones establecidas en este reglamento o que atente contra los derechos fundamentales de personas o colectivos.

English:
The organization reserves the right to disqualify any film that does not comply with the conditions set forth in these rules or that violates the fundamental rights of individuals or groups.

Artículo 13 — Aceptación del Reglamento / Acceptance of the Rules

Spanish:
La participación en el Festival implica la aceptación íntegra de este reglamento. Cualquier cuestión no prevista será resuelta por la organización, cuya decisión será definitiva.

English:
Participation in the Festival implies full acceptance of these rules. Any matter not expressly provided for shall be resolved by the organization, whose decision shall be final.

Artículo 14 — Concordancia con la Categoría de Inscripción / Compliance with Submission Category

Spanish:
Toda obra deberá cumplir con los requisitos específicos de la categoría en la que ha sido inscrita. La falta de adecuación a dicha categoría podrá ser causa de desestimación o reubicación por parte del comité de programación.

English:
Each submitted work must fulfill the specific requirements of the category under which it has been registered. Failure to comply may result in rejection or reassignment by the programming committee.

Artículo 15 — Subtitulación Obligatoria / Mandatory Subtitling

Spanish:
Todas las obras cuyo idioma original no sea el inglés o el español deberán presentarse con subtítulos en inglés. La ausencia de subtítulos podrá constituir causa de inadmisión.

English:
All films whose original language is not English or Spanish must be submitted with English subtitles. Lack of subtitles may constitute grounds for ineligibility.

Artículo 16 — Edad del Director / Director’s Age

Spanish:
Se admiten obras realizadas por directores de cualquier edad, sin distinción por razón de mayoría o minoría de edad, siempre que se cuente con la debida autorización legal en caso de menores.

English:
Works by directors of any age are accepted, without distinction regarding legal adulthood, provided that legal authorization is obtained in the case of minors.

Artículo 17 — Autorización para el Envío / Authorization for Submission
Spanish:

El formulario de inscripción únicamente podrá ser completado por personas debidamente facultadas, tales como el director, el productor, el jefe de producción, los ejecutivos de marketing o cargos administrativos debidamente acreditados.

English:
The submission form may only be completed by duly authorized individuals, including the director, producer, production manager, marketing executives, or other accredited administrative personnel.

Artículo 18 — Evaluación de las Obras / Evaluation of the Works

Spanish:
Todas las obras serán evaluadas por un jurado compuesto por profesionales que hayan superado exámenes técnicos y teóricos sobre cinematografía, conforme a los estándares establecidos por la organización.

English:
All films will be evaluated by a jury composed of professionals who have passed technical and theoretical cinematographic examinations, in accordance with standards established by the organization.

Artículo 19 — Finalidad del Festival / Purpose of the Festival

Spanish:
El Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Sevilla tiene como finalidad esencial la promoción y el apoyo a cineastas emergentes, fomentando el cine independiente, el acceso a la cultura y la difusión del conocimiento a través del arte audiovisual.

English:
The Seville International Film Festival is primarily aimed at promoting and supporting emerging filmmakers, fostering independent cinema, access to culture, and the dissemination of knowledge through audiovisual art.
