Film is an international medium that has its roots in the American inventors and entrepreneurs. This spirit is felt in every word of a script, every frame, every cell and every pixel of film produced around the world.
The American Film Award is a recognition of what it means to have that founding motivating force. It is much more than a trophy, it is a message that the spirit of film is alive.
The American Film Award is a mark of excellence in Film Craft.

The American Film Award, a beautifully hand crafted trophy, is presented to the best Feature and Short Script as well as the Best Feature, Short, Documentary, Episodes, and Best Student films in competition

The American Film Award is an online screenplay and film competition, used to celebrate the impact and artistry of cinema worldwide. Because of the awards international draw there is not a ceremony or festival for the award, allowing the filmmaker to continue working on their next project and use the award to further their film.
The American Film Award is a mark of excellence in Film Craft.
