Since 1997 this prestigious competition has showcased the works of the next generation of filmmakers. 12 to 25 short films will be selected by our panel of industry judges and shown in the Roger Ebert Conference Center at The American Pavilion to invited guests attending The Festival. It's a festival within a festival at the most important event on the international film calendar. Short Films, Short Documentaries, Student Documentaries, Student Films and LGBTQ films accepted from current undergraduate or graduate school students and emerging filmmakers up to three years post graduation. Films must be completed in 2017, 2018 or 2019.
Best Emerging Filmmaker Showcase - Short Film, Student Film, Short Documentary, Student Documentary and LGBTQ Film.
1. Films accepted for the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes will be projected via a digital link on a hard-drive at the American Pavilion.
2. Non-English language films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.
3. The number of screenings, date, time and location of the screenings of the film are at the discretion of the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes.
4. The American Pavilion retains submissions in its film library; if you wish your film or any material returned, you must send a self-addressed stamped envelope.
5. The American Pavilion reserves the right to complete any information not supplied by the filmmaker from whatever source available and will not be responsible if incorrect information is entered. Make sure you include your film synopsis and indicate your film school.

Student Films accepted from current undergraduate or graduate school students and emerging filmmakers up to three years post graduation. Films must be completed in 2017, 2018 or 2019. Please make sure you indicate the name of your school.
