ANIMALCOI is the international animation film festival organised by the EASDAlcoi, the ADAD association and the Alcoy City Council.
The third edition of the Animalcoi festival will take place on 24, 25 and 26 November 2023. Again projects, conferences, workshops, pitch and much more. Activities for all editions and free admission.
The prizes for animation short films are back.
We have three awards again.
Cash Prizes: 5,400€
CHOOLS-CC.ALZAMORA AWARD
This award is open to individual or collective short films produced by students of art colleges, vocational schools and university degrees at international level.
The works may be submitted by teachers or the educational centre of origin, as well as by the creator or group.
The maximum length of the piece shall not exceed 8 minutes, with no minimum length.
The theme of the short film is free.
The amount established for the prize is €1,000 for the creator/creator or creative team and a trophy.
FUNDACIÓN MUTUA LEVANTE AWARD.
Short films made by an author or group of authors aged 16 or over may be submitted.
The maximum duration of the piece shall not exceed 10 minutes. Minimum length: 45 seconds.
This year this award will be for experimental animation pieces.
The amount established for the prize is 1.500 € for the creator/creator or creative team and a trophy.

ANIMALCOI- SOLITIUM Award
Short films made by a creator or creative team aged 18 or over may be submitted.
The maximum duration of the piece shall not exceed 20 minutes. Minimum duration: 45 seconds.
The theme of the work is free.
The audiovisual pieces must have been produced between 1 January 2021 and May 2023. Films produced before or after these dates will not be accepted. This fact must be demonstrated with a digital document justifying its production.
The amount established for the prize is €2,000 for the author/author/authors and a trophy.
- PRICE:
The registration fee will be 1€/$.
FORM, PLACE AND DEADLINE FOR THE DELIVERY OF THE WORKS.
Regardless of their original format, the works must be sent in a minimum size of 1080p. The following formats will be accepted: .mov, .grandpa, .mp4, mv4.
If the projection quality is not adequate, and the film is selected, a copy in projection conditions will be requested.
Works may be submitted in any language. If it is not in either of the two official languages of the Valencian Community, subtitles in Spanish or Valencian must be included.
It is also important to fill in the dates correctly on the platforms, such as: synopsis, date of creation and premiere, short cv of the author/author, authors/authors, attach the poster and four promotional images.
The deadline for registration and submission of films will be between 5 April and 1 June 2023 at 11.59 pm.
The works will be sent to the festival organisers via the internet, through the Festhome platform.
Once the registration to the festival has been made and communicated, the work cannot be withdrawn.
DATA PROTECTION AND COPYRIGHTS (COPYRIGHT)
The personal data attached to the works will be used exclusively so that the ANIMALCOI organisation can contact the representatives of the works. This data will not be shared with third parties.
The festival undertakes to use the registered films only for the selection and subsequent screening of the selected material during the festival dates.
The broadcasting rights of the winning works will also become the property of the sponsors together with the authors for a certain period of time, provided that the creators/creators agree and sign a document to this effect.
SELECTION PROCESS AND DISSEMINATION OF THE WORKS RECEIVED.
All the works submitted will be viewed by a selection committee. There will be a specific jury for each prize.
The selection committees will be made up of three people: a professional from the sector, a teacher from EASDALCOI and a representative of the collaborating entity.
The selected works, according to the criteria deemed appropriate by the selection committee, will be made public on the festival's website during the first week of September. Before this date, the Festival will contact the selected works in writing.
Both an extract of the works and the images provided may be used to illustrate the various dissemination and communication materials of the festival (programme, magazine, catalogue, press, website and other media). The organisation undertakes to use the various dissemination materials only for the promotion of the film, respecting the conditions indicated on the entry form.
All selected films will be screened exclusively in the festival venues and on the platform selected for the digital festival, during the dates on which the festival is held. If other screenings are planned, the organisation will request authorisation from the film rights holder.
