Bloodtober Fest is an international fantasy and horror film festival and is a showcase for independent films of the genre.

1. Bloodtober Fest is an independent film festival specializing in the genres of horror, fantasy, and science fiction.

2. The festival is international. Short films and feature films from any nationality produced after January 1, 2022, are eligible. If the original language of the short film or feature film is different from Spanish or Valencian, it must include subtitles in one of these two languages.

3. Sections

- Short films (up to 30 minutes)

Fiction: Live-action short films in the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction.
Animation: Short films made with traditional animation, stop motion, 3D, rotoscoping, in the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction.
Documentary: The theme must be related to the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction.

- Feature films (from 60 minutes for fiction and animation; 50 minutes for documentaries).

Fiction: Live-action feature films in the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction.
Animation: Feature films made with traditional animation, stop motion, 3D, rotoscoping, in the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction.
Documentary: The theme must be related to the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction.

4. Submission platforms

Both short films and feature films must be submitted through the associated platforms: Festhome.

5. Deadline

The submission period will open on September 1, 2024, and close on September 30, 2024.

6. Selection of works and screening rights

A selection committee will review the films and choose the finalists to be included in the festival's program. The committee's decision will be notified to all participants through the submission platforms before the list of selected titles is published.

Selected works will be required to submit a screening copy in .mov or .mp4 format, which can be sent using any digital file transfer method. The rights holders of the selected films will grant screening rights exclusively within the festival's program. The festival will not transfer the work to third parties, nor will it distribute it, in whole or in part, via the internet or other digital means.

- Audience Award for Best Feature Film: €500
- Audience Award for Best Short Film: €300

8. Festival venue and dates

The venue and screening location for the I Bloodtober Fest will be the Auditorio Periodista Ángel María Boronat in Aspe (Alicante). The festival will take place from October 21 to October 27, 2024.

Submitting and sending a film implies acceptance of these rules.
