BPFF2024's program consists of a competitive section called 'Blue Planet Award' and various non-competitive programs.
Competition for films on climate crisis or related to the environment in a broad sense. Works selected for the finals after preliminary screening will be screened at BPFF2024.

Eligibility
- Films completed after January 1, 2019, not submitted to BPFF previously
- Films about environment, especially climate crisis regardless of format, genre and length

- Submission Deadline : May 14 (Tue), 2024 (KST)
Selection
- The submitted works will be reviewed by the preliminary judges organized and commissioned by the BPFF, and only the selected works will be notified to the entrants individually by July 2, 2024. Once confirmed for screening at the film festival, entries must not be withdrawn for any reason.
- The submitted works may be screened in various non-competitive categories after obtaining permission from the entrants.
Materials
-The finalists must provide the materials and the high-definition digital screener of the films that have been confirmed to be screened online within the deadline for requesting.
-Once a film is selected for the competition, the one-way trip transport and insurance costs for the film must be prepaid by its sender. BPFF will pay for the return cost only. Shipments to other festivals are the exception, in which case the standard practice of cost sharing will be applied.
-For films selected for the non-competitive sections, the round-trip transport costs will be covered by BPFF only when the shipment has been made through the official courier service designated by the festival and the return is to the origin of the print. Shipments to and/or from other festivals are the exception, in which case the standard practice of cost sharing will be applied.
Subtitles
Selected films will be screened in their original version. english subtitles are required for non-english and non-Korean language films. The final screening format may be changed for screening, such as Korean subtitles.
Promotion
The Festival may use promotional videos (trailers) provided by entrants for promotion. If not, the Festival has the right to arbitrarily produce and use promotional videos for 10% of the total length of the film, up to three minutes.
Archiving
-The Festival keeps the screening materials and screening copy in the archive and may use them for promotional, research, and educational purposes with the consent of the exhibitor, except for commercial purposes.
-The Festival is responsible for the storage of materials and screening copy, and if it is damaged or lost, it shall compensate the producer or distributor only for the production cost of a single screening copy.
Additional Screenings
All selected films, including award-winners, may be included to the tour screenings hosted or sponsored by BPFF with the consent of the copyright holder.
Copyright
The entrants are responsible for copyright clearances for all the materials used in the film. If it is found to be plagiarism, imitation, copyright infringement, or violation of the election law, the award will be canceled and the prize money will be collected.
Force Majeure
In the event of a natural disaster or social crisis, changes may occur, and the related contents will be discussed by mutual consent.
