BOYERIS International Film Festival is an independent international film festival founded in France and open to filmmakers worldwide.

BOYERIS celebrates bold works that expand cinematic language through new forms, storytelling, technology and ways of seeing. The festival is interested not simply in which tools are used, but in what new cinematic possibilities appear on screen.

The 2026 inaugural edition is held online and features five competition categories: New Cinematic Forms, AI-Assisted Cinema, Hybrid & Experimental, Vertical Cinema and Social Vision.

Filmmakers do not need to choose a competition category when submitting. Each work may be considered in one or more categories by the BOYERIS selection team.

The inaugural 2026 edition is free to enter. The Official Selection will be announced on December 6, 2026, and the awards will be announced on December 28, 2026.

BOYERIS Grand Prize
The highest distinction of the festival, recognising an outstanding work that embodies the spirit and vision of BOYERIS.

New Cinematic Form Award
For a work that expands cinematic language through an original approach to form, structure or storytelling.

Best AI-Assisted Film
For an outstanding work in which artificial intelligence contributes meaningfully to the cinematic creation.

Best Hybrid & Experimental Film
For an exceptional work combining forms, media, techniques or experimental approaches.

Best Vertical Film
For an outstanding work conceived for or making distinctive creative use of the vertical format.

Social Vision Award
For a work demonstrating a distinctive and compelling perspective on society, people or the contemporary world.

Emerging Voices Award
A cross-category distinction recognising an emerging filmmaker or new creative voice with notable artistic potential.

Jury Special Mention
A special distinction awarded at the jury's discretion to recognise an exceptional achievement that deserves particular acknowledgement.

1. Eligibility

BOYERIS International Film Festival is open to filmmakers from all countries and welcomes works across a wide range of genres, formats and creative approaches.

2. Competition Categories

The festival includes five competition categories:

New Cinematic Forms
AI-Assisted Cinema
Hybrid & Experimental
Vertical Cinema
Social Vision

Filmmakers are not required to select a competition category. The BOYERIS selection team may consider each submitted work for one or more categories according to its artistic and creative characteristics.

3. Submission Fee

Submission to the 2026 inaugural edition is free of charge. Any service fee charged independently by a submission platform is not collected by BOYERIS.

4. Language

Films may be submitted in any language. Films containing dialogue in a language other than English should provide English subtitles for the jury.

5. Rights and Permissions

By submitting a film, the submitter confirms that they are authorised to submit the work and that they hold or have obtained the necessary rights and permissions relating to the submitted material.

6. Selection

Submission does not guarantee selection. All decisions made by the BOYERIS selection team and jury are final.

7. Online Screening

Public online screening is optional. Filmmakers may choose jury-only screening without affecting their eligibility for selection or awards.

8. Awards

BOYERIS generally seeks to recognise different works across its awards. The BOYERIS Grand Prize is the festival's highest distinction and will generally not be combined with another award. In exceptional cases, a non-Grand-Prize work may receive more than one distinction if it demonstrates outstanding achievement in multiple areas.

9. Festival Dates

Submissions open on September 1, 2026 and close on November 15, 2026. The Official Selection will be announced on December 6, 2026. Awards will be announced on December 28, 2026.

10. Acceptance of Rules

By submitting a film to BOYERIS International Film Festival, the submitter agrees to these rules and regulations.
