Bratislava International Film Festival (21)

The International Film Festival Bratislava has been conceived as a standard film festival of the urban-type – an event whose mission is to discover new names of contemporary cinema that seem to be well on their way toward becoming future stars of the silver screen. has three competitive sections: The festival is the largest and the single most important international cinema event in Slovakia’s capital and has earned a stable place in the calendar of its most prominent cultural events.

The festival has four competitive sections:
The International Competition of First and Second Fiction Feature Films
The International Competition of First and Second Documentary Feature Films
The International Competition of First and Second Animation Feature Films
The International Competition of Short films

Cash Prizes: 50,000€

Award for Best Fiction Feature Film
Award for Best Documentary Feature Film
Award for Best Animation Feature Film

Best Fiction Short Film
Best Documentary Short Film Award
Best Animation Short Film Award

There will be a total cash prize of $50,000 to be shared amongst all award winners

The Festival accepts films that were not commercially released in Slovakia before the Festival, films submitted for the Festival may be presented at other international events outside of Slovakia prior to the Festival.

First or second feature-length films must have a runtime of at least 60 minutes

Short films must not be more than 30 minutes

Works produced must be after January 1th 2020

English subtitles are required for all foreign-language films
