Bucharest International Film Festival is a competitive festival, dedicated primarily to international feature-length films. The festival aims to promote copyright movies and low budget films.

OFFICIAL REGULATIONS

A) Submission Guidelines

1.The Official Competition of Bucharest International Film Festival is focused exclusively on first, second or third feature films by a director.

2.Films must be completed on or after May 1, 2015.

3.Films that have previously screened publicly in Romania, or are available for continuous online viewing in their entirety in Romania are NOT eligible.

4.Films previously submitted to the Bucharest International Film Festival are NOT eligible.

5.Films must be submitted online.

6.Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival.

7.Entrant will allow usage of clips from the film for promotional use on television, radio, in print, and at live Festival events.

8.All entries must be either in English or subtitled in English. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles are not eligible.

10.Productions in the following exhibition formats are eligible for Festival screening: 35mm, DCP, Blu-ray Disc.

B) Deadlines

Entries eligible for selection must be postmarked by March 15, 2016.

C) Shipping

The cost of shipping an entry to the Festival must be paid by the entrant. Collect shipments will not be accepted.

The package must include the message "For cultural purpose only. No commercial value".

The submitted DVD will not be returned.

All international entries must be sent to the Festival office with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper. Fees charged to the Bucharest International Film Festival will be refused. Be sure to include the proper customs documentation required by your shipping service.

D) Selection

If a film is selected for screening, the Festival office will contact the entrant by email.

All entrants will be notified after April 1st, 2016.

For publication purposes, entries selected will be required to supply three high resolution stills from the film, at least one high resolution photograph of the film's director and one official poster. The Festival also requests publicity materials and a video trailer (if available). Publicity and press materials will not be returned.
