Busan Inter-City Film Festival started from the 1st UNESCO Busan City Film Festival in 2017, and it introduces local films from domestic and international cities in exchange with the Busan Independent Film Association, as well as films from UNESCO-designated Film Creative Cities. Witness the vibrancy of local films and encounter films from various unique cities worldwide. Under the name of film, it will serve as an opportunity to share warmth of friendship beyond cultures, languages, customs, and religions, expanding the scope of creative networks.

The Busan Inter-City Film Festival(August 30th to September 1st, 2024), a collaborative effort between UNESCO Creative Cities of Film and the partner cities of Busan Independent Film Association, is now open for submissions for its 2024 screenings! We eagerly anticipate receiving diverse and unique works from various cities. Be a part of the Busan Inter-City Film Festival, connecting cities and people through film.

1. Submission period : April 3rd, 2024, through June 1st, 2024, 11:00 PM (Korea Standard Time) *Submission fee free

2. Guidelines apply for submissions:
Films should either originate from a UNESCO Creative City of Film or be crafted by a filmmaker associated with a UNESCO Creative City of Film.

UNESCO Creative Cities of Film are:
Bitola (Macedonia), Bradford (UK), Bristol (UK), Cannes (France), Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Galway (Ireland), Gdynia (Poland), Łódź (Poland), Mumbai (India), Potsdam (Germany), Qingdao (China), Rome (Italy), Santos (Brazil), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sofia (Bulgaria), Sydney (Australia), Terrassa (Spain), Valladolid (Spain), Wellington (New Zealand), Yamagata (Japan).

All genres will be accepted, with a duration of 40 minutes or less per film.

Films should be completed within the last 2 years. (From Jan 2022 to present)

English subtitles are mandatory for all films.
The selected films will each be screened once during the festival period at both Busan Cinema Center and Space Mousai.

Prepare the following information for input: Film title, Director's name, email address, another contact person’s email address, Filmography in recent 3 years, Production year, Runtime, Genre, Synopsis, Online screening link with English subtitles, Format, Ratio, Sound, Color, Cast. (The submission link doesn't allow for saving your progress.)

Please send 1 photo of the director and 2 still images of the film to intercityff@naver.com (These may be used for promotional purposes if the film is selected.

Submit the email subject and file name in the format of [INBICFF_Film title in English]. ex: [INBICFF_We are young_still01]
