The Capital City Film Festival (CCFF) is a multimedia showcase of independent films, live touring bands and multimedia experiences that engage audiences in Michigan’s capital city. We celebrate artists from around the world who share their craft while promoting and building on the cultural assets of our diverse locale.

Cash Prizes: 11,000$
The Fortnight Film Contest gives teams 2 weeks to create an original short, 10 minutes or less. We play the top 10 films during a screening at the fest and give away cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams plus Audience Choice.
The Fortnight Game Contest challenges teams to create a wonderful original game incentivized with a gracious prize packages. The top five team get to do a live demo presentation on the Prime Screen.
We also offer prizes for the top selection in three categories :
Best Narrative Feature
Best Documentary Feature
Best Short
Please DO NOT submit your film in the Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature or Non-student Short categories if it is a student-produced work. Please see the Student submission category for full guidelines.
-If submitting a DVD with a check, the check must be made out to Capital City Film Festival. **Please include your submission's FilmFreeway tracking number on the check.**
-Submissions will not be accepted if postmarked after January 12th, 2018, the final submission deadline.
-Works in progress are not accepted.
-Submissions must have been produced since January 2015.
-Submissions received without the proper entry fee will not be considered.
-Entries must be in English or subtitled in English.

Shipping:
-Festival entrants are responsible for all shipping charges for their films. Submissions sent COD won't be accepted. International submitters are responsible for any customs paperwork, duty charges or taxes incurred during the international submission process.
Return of Entries:
-Festival submission DVDs will not be returned.
-CCFF will incur the cost of shipping back film prints screened at the festival. Every reasonable effort will be made to protect films and tapes from damage or loss, but CCFF and its affiliated parties do not assume liability for damage or loss during shipment.
Other Details:
-Screening copies of selected films (DVDs, Blu-Ray, or digital files) need to be received at least 4 weeks prior to the festival, which begins April 11th, 2018.
I have read all of the Capital City Film Festival (CCFF) rules. I understand and have complied with these rules.
I warrant the submission of my original work and there are no disputes regarding the ownership of the submission. I also warrant the submitted material does not defame or invade the rights of any person living or dead and I fully indemnify CCFF against any claim made for such violations of law.
To the best of my knowledge, all of the statements herein are true and correct.
I understand that failure to adhere to CCFF's rules will result in disqualification and no refunds of any kind will be made.
I agree to hold CCFF harmless from and defend them against all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgments, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising out of or in connection with any and all claims of third parties, whether or not groundless, based on any film submitted to CCFF. I understand that a high quality festival screening copy of my film must be provided no later than 4 weeks prior to April 11th, 2018.

Documentary Feature submissions should be between 60 and 120 minutes in length and must be non-fiction. Please Note: DO NOT submit your film in this category if it is a student-produced work. Please see the Student submission category for full guidelines.

Student submissions may be of any length or genre. Films must be student work. Along with your submission, INCLUDE PROOF OF STUDENT STATUS. An unofficial transcript proving enrollment in at least one semester since January 2013, meaning that you've been in school no longer ago than spring semester 2013, is REQUIRED. Please Note: DO NOT submit your film in this category unless it is a student production.

If your submission does not comfortably fit into one of the other categories, this Interactive Media should be for your games, non-traditional digital storytelling and interactive experiences. If you have any questions, feel free to ask before submitting in this category. Student projects are encouraged to use the discounted student rate (and provide proof of eligibility).

For those with a TV pilot or a one-off program that is aspiring for a half hour or an hour long time slot. Content needs to be between 25 minutes and a hour in length.
Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
