The third edition of the Chihuahua Film Festival (FECCH) will take place from June 3 to 7, 2025.

The FECCH arises from the need to broaden cultural and artistic perspectives in the north of the country, through cinematographic images.

Bringing together a variety of genres, from documentary to fiction, the productions that are exhibited accompany the FECCH's intention to promote cinematographic art.

From that point of view, we firmly believe that the FECCH will be a space for the creation of quality audiovisual content.

Rules:

1. Films produced after January 1, 2023 may participate. National releases will be given preference.

2. Registration of film material will begin on September 1, 2024 at 00:01 hrs. and will end on March 1, 2025 at 23:59 hrs.

3. Documentary, fiction and animation material will be accepted.

4. The duration of the short film must be a maximum of 40 minutes including credits.

5. Feature films must last more than 60 minutes.

6. It must include a classification notice (AA, A, B, B15, etc.).

7. The selection of proposals will be based on the provisions of this call.

Guidelines:

1. Participants may register as many films as they wish.

2. Registrations will be made exclusively online and the participant must submit their film through Festhome, completing all the required information: https://festhome.com/festival/chihuahua-film-fest

3. Other registration methods such as Vimeo links, YouTube, sending by ftp, WeTransfer or similar will not be accepted.

4. The registration of a film to the festival assumes that the participant accepts the rules of this call

5. No monetary incentive will be granted for screening the material.

6. Short films or feature films will not be received before or after the stipulated date and time.

7. The material received will be available to the FECCH archive, preserved for consultation and non-profit cultural exhibition for a period of 1 year.

8. The participant will receive a confirmation email if his/her work has been selected. If he/she does not receive any notification, he/she may request information by emailing fecch@chihuahuafilmfest.com

9. The jury will be made up of 5 qualified professionals, unrelated to the organization and competition of the festival.

10. If a selected film does not match the previously assigned classification, the judges may recategorize it.

11. If the recategorization is not accepted, the film will be excluded from the competition and from the festival.

12. Once admitted by the organizing committee, short films and feature films may not be withdrawn from the program by their authors.

13. Short films and feature films may be included in non-profit film exhibitions for one year after the festival.

14. The people responsible for the selected short and feature films agree to include in all their press and advertising material the phrase “official selection of the Chihuahua Film Festival” and the festival laurel provided by the organizing committee.

15. The evaluation criteria are: originality and development, clarity in transmitting the message, acting, editing, sound, production design, direction, cinematography and congruence with the call.

16. The organizing committee will select the best short and feature films (Official Selection) to be exhibited during the festival.

17. The jury's decision will be final.

18. The official selection of short and feature films will be notified on April 15, 2025.

19. Once notified as an official selection, they will have a period of 15 days to send their material in the established formats, otherwise they will be excluded from the competition and from the festival.

20. The official selection of short and feature films will be published starting on May 5, 2025 as part of the Chihuahua Film Festival program.

21. Selected participants must send their material in DCP and MP4 or MOV format in high definition 1080p (minimum) for proper screening.

22. All foreign films must include Spanish subtitles, otherwise they will not be considered to be part of the Official Selection.


Registration fees:

Early registration: September 1 to October 31, 2024

1. Short films: $150 pesos m.n.
2. Feature films: $350 pesos m.n.

Regular registration: November 1 to December 31, 2024

3. Short films: $200 pesos m.n.
4. Feature films: $400 pesos m.n.

Late registration: January 1 to March 1, 2025

5. Short films: $300 pesos m.n.
6. Feature films: $500 pesos m.n.


Copyright:

1. The filmmakers must have full rights to the material submitted at the time of registration, including script, music, sound, photography, animations and graphics.

2. The Festival reserves the right to require proof of authorship if necessary.

3. It must not contain content of a political, electoral, commercial nature, pornography, racist, sexist, offensive or defamatory statements intended to harm anyone.

4. Short films that have copyright or trademark registration, such as: television characters, video games, movies, comics, etc., may not participate.
