Ciak Italia International Short Festival is the International Short Film Festival born from the desire to create a space for promotion and discussion capable of connecting producers, actors and talents with the most important international distribuition. The goal is to stimulate new productions, conveying means and knowledge, celebrating the authors and putting them in contact with the audience of the theater and with the most established streaming platforms. Despite being a young festival, the organization enjoys an important reputation in the field of cinema and television. The mission will be to connect artists, writers, directors, actors and producers each year in a prestigious Italian location to activate artistic and economic exchanges and unions to convey high-quality cinematographic products: Fiction and animated short films, trailers, music videos and short film scripts are eligible of every film genre.

Trophy for Best Short Film

The Festival's main award, given to the best short film overall. It evaluates originality, direction, acting, photography and editing.

Best Director Award
An award for the director who has distinguished himself for his artistic vision, narrative ability and direction of the actors.

Best Screenplay Award
Rewards the most creative, coherent and powerful writing from a dramaturgical and dialogic point of view.

Best Actor / Best Actress Award

Recognitions for the most convincing, emotionally engaging and technically solid performances.

Best Photography Award

For the most refined work in terms of visual aesthetics, lighting, composition and atmosphere.

Best Original Soundtrack Award

For the music that has best enhanced the narration and emotional impact of the short film.

Audience Award

Awarded by the vote of spectators in the theater or on the festival's partner streaming platforms.

International "Visioni dal Mondo" Award

Intended for short films from abroad that have stood out for their ability to tell universal stories through different cultures.

Young Talents/Under 30 Award

A special recognition for emerging directors, actors or screenwriters under 30.

Special Production Award / Technical Support for new project

The offer from a production present at the festival can consist of a technical and logistic support for the realization of the next short in South Italy.

1. Entry Requirements:

Running Time for Short Films: Generally, short films must not exceed a maximum running time, often set at 20 minutes, including opening and closing credits.​

Production Date: The works must have been completed after a certain date, for example, no older than five years from the current edition of the festival.​

subtitles: If the short film is in a language other than Italian, it must be subtitled in Italian or english.​

2. Entry Method:

Entry Form: Filling out an online form on festhome.com​

3. Selection and Jury:

Selection Process: A committee reviews all the short films submitted and selects those that will participate in the festival.​

Communication: The directors of the selected works are contacted by email or telephone.​


Jury: A jury composed of industry professionals evaluates the films during the festival and assigns the press.​
