CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival is a millennial, feminist and multidisciplinary festival of short films written and/or directed by women covering Balearic, national and international content and held in Palma, Madrid and Barcelona in December 2022.
CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival was created with the aim of exhibiting, supporting and disseminating the work of women film professionals and short films by women and short films at national and international level.
One of the main goals of CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival is the respect for the professionalization of the art and the care of the artist. All the films that make up the festival are paid a non-competitive fee to encourage filmmaking and the respect for the short film industry.
Cash Prizes: 2,000€
All short films selected in the Official Selection will receive a fee of €75 for the selection at the CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival 2022.
- The short films selected in Parallel Sections will receive a fee of €20 for the selection at the CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival 2022.
- All selected short films, both in the Official and Parallel Sections, will be able to enjoy offers, gifts and discounts offered by the sponsors and collaborators of the festival.
-LOCATIONS AND DATES -
The 3rd edition of CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival will be held in December 2022 in Palma, Madrid and Barcelona.
Participation in the festival also includes an extra screening throughout 2023.
- RULES -
Characteristics of the short films in the OFFICIAL SECTION:
1. YEAR OF PRODUCTION - Selected short films must have been produced from 2020 or later.
2. duration: The duration of the selected short films will be a maximum of 30 minutes.
3. COUNTRY: Any short film from any country and any continent can participate in the festival's competition.
4. THEME: All types of themes are accepted. Themes with millennial content will be positively valued.
5. GENDER: All genres are accepted.
6. AUTHOR: The film must be written and/or directed by a woman. Films written by people born between 1980 and 2000 will be positively evaluated.
7. EVALUATION: The creativity of the short film and its impact on social and/or humanitarian transformation will be positively evaluated.
Characteristics of the short films of the PARALLEL SECTION:
1. YEAR OF PRODUCTION - The short films selected in PARALLEL SECTION may date from any year.
2. duration: The duration of the selected short films will be a maximum of 30 minutes.
3. COUNTRY: Any short film from any country and any continent can participate in the festival.
4. THEME: All types of themes are accepted. Themes with millennial content will be considered.
5. GENDER: All genres are accepted.
6. AUTHOR: The film must be written and/or directed by a woman.
7. EVALUATION: The creativity of the short film and its impact on social and/or humanitarian transformation will be positively evaluated.
Technical requirements for films selected for the OFFICIAL SECTION and PARALLEL SECTIONS:
8. subtitleS: All films submitted must have subtitles in english and SPANISH in .srt format or embedded in the film itself.
9. MATERIALS: The selected short films must send by means of a link the DCP with the subtitles embedded in Spanish if it is a foreign language or in english if the film is in Spanish or Catalan.
A high resolution copy must also be submitted as a backup in .mp4 or .mov with embedded subtitles.
10. on-line EXHIBITION: Selected films cannot be accessible on any open web page.
11. MARKETING MATERIAL:
The following communication and marketing materials for the dissemination of their films will be requested from all short films once they have been selected:
- Trailer
- Frames
- Photograph of the director and/or screenwriter.
- Specific technical and artistic file of CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival.
- Specific marketing card of CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Selected candidates may be asked to make an appointment for a telephone, television, radio or on-line interview.
Submitting a short film proposal to the CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival means that you have read, understood and accepted the rules and regulations of this call for entries.
By submitting your short film proposal to the CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival you grant the copyright and permission to use the images of the selected short film and the use of the same for the purpose of dissemination, marketing, communication and exhibition of the film.
By submitting your short film proposal to CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival you agree that your film can be screened up to 4 times in different venues in Palma, Madrid and/or Barcelona. Being a maximum of 3 screenings in 2022 and 1 screening in 2023.
In the event that the graphic, communication and marketing materials requested by the organization of CONOFEST - International (Short) Film Festival are not delivered within 7 days after the selection, the short film may be disqualified and replaced by another that also meets the same conditions.
