Cortos Perú Shorts - Permanent and itinerant exhibition
Cortos Peru Shorts - Bases for Participation -

Cortos Perú Shorts is a select permanent and itinerant exhibition of Peruvian and international short films. The exhibition is planned to continue twice a month, on Tuesdays, at the Vórtice Club in the district of Barranco and we are working on new presentations in different parts of Lima, in other regions of Peru and abroad. The exhibition plans to continue throughout the year and will try to exhibit as many works as possible, after the selection process. The projection of these works will take place from May onwards.

We are also working so that this exhibition can be shown in special presentations in movie theaters, in a Peruvian television program and in a VOD platform or similar. The selected short films will be informed in a timely manner of the new exhibition spaces that the exhibition may offer them.

Short films up to 5 years old, from 2021 onwards, may participate in this exhibition, as long as they have won an award at one or more festivals.

The short films of Peruvian nationality have no registration fee although they do have the following requirements to opt for selection: All directors and/or producers of the selected short films must be actively willing to give interviews, recordings, publish in their social networks their participation in CORTOS PERU SHORTS and ensure the presence of at least five attendees who buy their tickets for the day their short film will be presented as well as be available to present their work to the audience of CORTOS PERU SHORTS. If you feel you cannot provide that level of participation in the promotion and in securing the attendance and ticket purchase of at least five people for the day of your short film, please refrain from submitting your short film. Foreigners with permanent residence in Peru may participate in this category.

It can be fiction, documentary, experimental or animation. The selection criteria for the short films that will participate in the exhibition will be made at the discretion of the organizers and must be creative cinematographic works that invite reflection, healthy and intelligent comedy, that lead us to live an emotion with intensity, that make us tremble our skin and soul, for a suspense that intrigues and surprises, that makes us know stories that leave us excited and wanting to go out and tell everyone what we have just seen. They cannot have a clear institutional or advertising theme, or any extreme political position or support any kind of violence. No gore. No horror genre.

They must have a duration of 3 minutes to 20 minutes including credits, they must be spoken or subtitled in Spanish. Those responsible for the submission assure to have the authorization of the producers of all the necessary rights to participate in CORTOS PERU SHORTS and authorize Transversal Films S.A.C. to participate in all its exhibitions ever or to be organized within the framework of CORTOS PERU SHORTS. This call for entries closes on May 31, 2025, although some works may be notified whether or not they are selected before the closing date. The official selection will be notified to all short films submitted no later than July 15 through the platform.

This Festival is NON-competitive, so it does not contemplate any economic prize although it does offer the artistic recognition that the work deserves and in the networks of CORTOS PERU SHORTS. The short films selected and not selected will be notified through this platform. The selected short films commit to send the files requested at the time of notification in the time and manner indicated.


Any situation that may arise during this call for entries and that is not contemplated in these rules will be solved by the organizers unilaterally in order to maintain the permanence and exhibition of the selected works.
