Event created in 2008 by audiovisual students in Asturias to promote their works.

They later created the organizing association with which to develop amateur and professional activities, taking charge of the festival until 2020, which is suspended due to the pandemic.

In 2022 the festival will resume seeking to become a national festival.

Mejor cortometraje asturiano 2023

All short films that have been filmed in Asturias and/or are directed by Asturian filmmakers (born or resident in Asturias) may participate.

The works presented may be on any topic and genre.

They must be in Spanish or Spanish, with subtitles optional.

The duration cannot be longer than 30 minutes.

They must have been filmed after January 1, 2022.

The date for submitting works will end on December 8, 2023.

The works will be presented through the Festhome platform.

The jury will be made up of a member of the organization, a professional from the audiovisual sector and a representative of our collaborators/sponsors.

The jury must designate a winner and notify the organization before December 23, 2023.

Short films directed by members of the festival organization cannot be awarded.

The prize will be awarded within a maximum period of six months from the date of the festival.

The participants assign to the festival the rights of total or partial reproduction of the works presented, both within the scope of the contest and through any of the means that this festival uses to make itself known and promote itself. This does not imply the loss of copyright by its owners but rather the transfer of these for non-commercial purposes linked to the festival.

In case of breach of copyright or intellectual property, the person responsible will be solely and exclusively the person who sent the short film to the competition, and must assume the consequences derived from any type of claim or legal action. Consequently, the organization is exempt from any conflict arising from the works presented.

Participation in Cortoviedo implies full acceptance of these rules.
