# XXI “SERRA CIRCULAR” AWARD

## RULES OF THE CRYPTSHOW FESTIVAL FANTASTIC GENRE SHORT FILM COMPETITION

**Short film submission period:** From **SEPTEMBER 24, 2026 to MARCH 15, 2027**.

**Cryptshow Festival 2027 will take place from JUNE 25 to JULY 3, 2027.**

We accept short films with a running time of less than **25 minutes**, produced from **January 2025**, in the genres of fantasy, science fiction and/or horror. All short films received before **MARCH 15, 2027** will be eligible for the competition.

Once the submission form has been completed and the film uploaded, you will be registered for Cryptshow Festival and will be eligible for the **“Serra Circular” Award**, with a prize of **€666**.

Short films may be made in any format, but they must be submitted as a digital file. Short films that are not in Catalan or Spanish must be accompanied by a transcription in Catalan, Spanish, Galician, English, French or Italian. A still from the short film must be attached for promotional purposes. (We would also appreciate it if the short film were accompanied by a press kit.)

The finalist films will be screened in the **Cryptshow Festival 27 Official Selection**. The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony.

Participants are responsible for any claims made by third parties regarding the submitted works. The festival organization reserves the right to resolve any matter not specifically covered by these rules.

Once selected for the Official Selection, a short film may not be withdrawn from the programme or screenings, unless a **€100 penalty** is paid in advance.

# AWARDS

The Cryptshow Festival selection jury will divide the selected short films between the **Official Selection** and the **Official Competition Selection**.

Short films in the Official Competition Selection will compete for the **“Serra Circular” Award**, presented by the Festival's Official Jury.

**Jury “Serra Circular” Award:** festival trophy, a mechanical saw created by Catalan ceramic artist **Marta Martínez y Hortet**, and **€666**.

The winner of the **Jury “Serra Circular” Award** agrees to provide the necessary bank details for the payment of the **€666 prize before OCTOBER 30, 2027**. Failure to do so will entitle the organization to use the prize for future editions.

# TAC AWARD

All short films produced in Catalonia that participate in the **2027 edition of Cryptshow Festival** will automatically be eligible for the **TAC Award**, presented by the **Federació d'Entitats Cinèfiles Terror Arreu de Catalunya**.

# SMALL PRINT

All submitted short films will be added to the festival's video library.

The festival organization reserves the right to use all or part of the submitted material for festival promotional purposes and always on a strictly non-profit basis.

Short films in the Official Selection may also be automatically selected for other editions or activities of the festival that Cryptshow may organize outside the dates and venues established in these rules, for the purpose of promoting Cryptshow Festival.

Submitting a film implies acceptance of these rules.
