The D'A Film Lab Barcelona is a program to promote new film talent that aims to facilitate the conclusion of feature films in the post-production phase and promote their international circulation. Six unfinished films will be selected to receive specific advice from professionals and a jury will award a prize of 20,000 euros to the best film of the six participants.
Cash Prizes: 20,000€
The six selected projects are eligible for the prize awarded by an independent jury which consists of 20,000 euros for the main producer/representative who has registered the film for the call.
Feature films, both fiction and non-fiction, can be submitted to the D'A Film Lab Barcelona in the post-production phase. The project in question has to be the director's first, second or third feature film. The nationality of the director must be Spanish, as well as one of the production companies, either the main one or within an international co-production structure.
Participation in the D'A Film Lab Barcelona is compatible with participation in other initiatives similar to other festivals.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Participants will have to present a minimum cut of approximately 55 minutes. Likewise, the cut show in the pitching of the D'A Film Lab must be at least 55 minutes long and does not have to be the same as the one presented via Festhome.
2. If the language spoken in the film is not Spanish, the cut presented will have to be subtitled in this language. The representatives of the film will be in charge of subtitling it.
3. Participants will have to present a document in pdf format and English (max. 2 pages) explaining the project's audience development strategy: initial ideas about target audience(s), tools to reach them, work planned with distributors and agents to reach audiences, the knowledge they have in this field and tools they want to acquire in terms of audience development, etc.
4. A document in pdf format, in Spanish (max. 2 pages) with the global and detailed budget of the project (preferably in ICAA format) and the financing plan.
5. Failure to comply with the deadlines for the submission of materials will mean the non-consideration of the film.
6. The registration period will remain open until March 15, 2022 at 23:59 h.
