The Digital Griffix Film Awards is an international film festival based in Quebec, Canada, dedicated to discovering, recognizing, and promoting independent filmmakers from around the world.

Founded by Digital Griffix, a company with a background in visual effects, animation, and digital production, the festival was created with a strong appreciation for both the creative and technical work behind filmmaking.

We welcome films from emerging and established filmmakers across a wide range of genres and formats, including narrative films, documentaries, animation, experimental projects, web series, student films, and more.

Throughout the season, selected projects compete in multiple categories recognizing directing, acting, cinematography, editing, screenwriting, music, sound, and other aspects of filmmaking.

Our goal is not only to recognize great work, but also to give filmmakers additional opportunities for visibility and creative support.

Depending on the category and season, selected nominees and winners may benefit from:

At the end of the season, selected films may also be presented as part of our annual live screening and awards event in Quebec, Canada,bringing filmmakers and audiences together to celebrate independent cinema.

AWARDS & PRIZES

The Digital Griffix Film Awards recognizes outstanding independent filmmakers, artists and technicians across a wide range of categories.

1. CATEGORY AWARDS

Winners in each competitive category receive an Official Digital Griffix Film Awards Winner Certificate.

Nominees may also receive an official nomination certificate recognizing their selection by the festival jury.

Awards are presented in categories celebrating filmmaking and individual achievement, including directing, acting, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, original music, sound, animation and other creative and technical disciplines.

2. BEST FILMS OF THE YEAR

At the end of each festival year, three major awards recognize outstanding projects:

Best Fiction Film of the Year

Best Documentary Film of the Year

Best Animated Film of the Year

Winners of these three major annual awards are eligible to receive our Digital Griffix Crystal Eagle Trophy, the festival's signature award.

3. INDUSTRY PRIZES

Winners of the Digital Griffix Awards for Best Film of the Year in one of our three main annual categories receive an iPITCH.TV package.

iPITCH.TV provides creators with a platform to present original film, television and digital-media concepts and connect their projects with entertainment-industry professionals.

Selected winners may also receive additional industry prizes and opportunities announced for the applicable festival season.

4. VFX & 3D PRIZE

As Digital Griffix has a professional background in visual effects, animation and 3D production, we also offer an exclusive creative benefit to our award-winning filmmakers.

Award winners from all seasons and categories are eligible for a complimentary VFX 3D modelling package, which can include a production-ready 3D character, creature or model selected from the Digital Griffix 3D collection.

This prize is designed to give independent filmmakers access to production resources that can help support a future film or creative project.

5. FILMMAKER PROMOTION

Selected nominees and winners may be invited to participate in a filmmaker interview, either in writing or by video call.

Interviews, winning projects and selected filmmakers may be featured through the Digital Griffix Film Awards website and social media channels, providing additional visibility for their work.

Our awards are designed not only to recognize achievement, but also to support filmmakers beyond the competition and help their work reach new audiences and industry professionals.

RULES & TERMS

1. SUBMISSIONS

All films must be submitted through one of the festival's official submission platforms with a secure online screener or digital file accessible to our jury.

2. MULTIPLE CATEGORIES

Filmmakers may submit the same project to multiple categories. Each category entered is considered a separate submission.

3. RIGHTS & PERMISSIONS

By submitting a project to the Digital Griffix Film Awards, the submitter confirms that they own or have obtained all necessary rights and permissions required to submit and exhibit the work, including music, images, performances, and any other copyrighted material contained in the project.

4. JURY EVALUATION

Submitted films are viewed privately by members of our jury. We do not publicly screen submitted films online.

Projects are evaluated according to their artistic, creative and technical qualities, with consideration given to the nature and category of each submission.

5. SELECTION & NOMINATION

Submitting a project does not guarantee selection, nomination or an award.

Only projects chosen by the jury will receive the appropriate Official Selection, Finalist, Nominee or Winner status.

6. LIVE SCREENING

Submission to the regular award categories does not automatically include a public theatrical screening.

Filmmakers who wish to have their project considered for our live screening must submit to the appropriate Live Screening category when available.

Only selected films will be presented during the live event. A nomination or award in another category does not automatically guarantee a theatrical screening.

7. AWARDS

Nominees and winners are determined by the Digital Griffix Film Awards jury based on the artistic, creative and technical qualities of the submitted projects.

The festival may present more than one distinction in a category when appropriate.

The festival also reserves the right not to present an award in a category if the jury determines that no submission meets the required standard.

8. ANNUAL AWARDS

Selected projects may also be considered for our major annual awards:

Best Fiction Film of the Year

Best Documentary Film of the Year

Best Animated Film of the Year

Eligible annual winners may receive the Digital Griffix Crystal Eagle Trophy and additional prizes offered for the applicable season.

9. PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

By submitting a project, participants authorize the Digital Griffix Film Awards to use the project title, poster, still images, trailer, filmmaker and cast/crew names, and other promotional materials supplied with the submission for festival promotional purposes.

These materials may be used on the festival's website, social media, promotional publications, nominee and winner announcements, interviews and event-related communications.

This authorization does not transfer ownership of the submitted work to the festival.

10. FESTIVAL DECISIONS

All selections, nominations and awards are determined by the Digital Griffix Film Awards jury.

All festival and jury decisions are final.

11. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES

By submitting a project to the Digital Griffix Film Awards, the submitter confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Rules & Terms.
