Festival start: 02 March 2027
Festival end: 07 March 2027
DOC[iN] - Viana International Documentary Film Festival is organized by AO NORTE in partnership with the Viana do Castelo Municipality.
DOC[iN] is a festival that promotes cinema as an aesthetic and artistic experience, creating a space for reflection and critical thinking through documentary film. Dedicated to non-fiction cinema, the festival brings together films that explore major contemporary challenges, such as democracy, memory, social justice, identities, labor, and climate change.
More than just a film screening event, the festival seeks to be a place for gathering, debate, and social transformation, promoting intercultural dialogue and universal values. It serves as a bridge between different peoples and cultures, reinforcing Viana do Castelo as a territory of cultural sharing and innovation.
The program highlights films recognized for their artistic quality and the power of the author's vision. Through multiple perspectives, the festival invites audiences to reflect on the human condition, global challenges, and forms of resistance, transformation, and hope in the contemporary world.
