Festival start: 21 February 2019      Festival end: 24 February 2019

From February 21-24, 2019, the international documentary industry will once again gather in Eindhoven for the 6th edition of DOCfeed. With a program of the finest selection of films, and a friendly audience, with workshops for and by documentary professionals.

DOCfeed is one of the newest celebration of the documentary genre in the world. We hope to see you all here! We offer the option to submit and review your documentary online.

One of the things that makes our festival unique is that we do the screenings in pop-up cinema’s, mainly in old Philipps buildings (as Eindhoven is the hometown of Philipps) and museums. Have a close look at the pictures to see the warm ad nice atmosphere of our festival, or check our Facebook page to read the reactions of filmmakers and visitors to our festival.

The entry for documentaries will be open from July. We accept only Documentaries. We hope to sustain and promote filmmakers, especially independent filmmakers around the world, to continue their creativity and produce their artworks; to inspire all filmmakers to never stop chasing their dreams in creating excellent movies, and to participate in the film industry.

Newcomers are welcomed. The films will be pre-selected before presented to a judge panel.

If you have any question please feel free to mail us anytime.

Every film (all lengths) when selected, is awarded by adding you to our website, include your film in our program book, screening your film during our festival, and we offer you a hotel room during the festival.

We are a DOCUMENTARY MAKER festival - produced by filmmakers, programmed by filmmakers. Submit NOW and become a part of the DOCfeed International festival!

We hope to have all the information about us on FilmFreeway. However, if you have any question, please feel free to contact us anytime by e-mail. If your film like us on Facebook, we can promote your film once accepted.

AWARDS: every film (all lengths) when selected, is awarded by adding you to our website, include your film in our program book, screening your film during our festival, and we offer you a hotel room during the festival.

WHERE IN THE WORLD? Wherever you are on the globe, we're interested in your cinematic story. The Netherlands is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world and, Eindhoven – one of the High Tech regions in the world – is rich with an incredible variety of peoples.

SUBMIT AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE! Submitting early not only allows more time for consideration, but also guarantees you won’t miss the final deadline. No late submissions will be considered at all. Seriously!

PREMIERE/BROADCAST STATUS: To continue raising the prestige of DOCfeed - with audiences and filmmakers – our priority is to program films (of all lengths) that have exclusive, Dutch premiere status. A cast & crew screening or screenings in other countries does not disqualify a film. Films that have been broadcasted and are online screenable without password protection will not be selected.

DOCFEED SCOPES: The films we selected the first 4 years were mainly in the corner of human Interest, culture and music. Since the 2018 edition, we have broadened the scope. ALL documentaries are welcomed, but keep in mind what we are especially interested in.
HUMAN INTEREST: what is about people and about human concerns, issues and feelings. This is a type of 'format' focusing on personal actions and consequences, and used dramatic, humorous and narrative styles. It is mostly about everyday emotions and events.
CULTURE: All those things that people think, do and have: habits and customs, way of living, religion, values, art, theatre, performance, mode of existence, music, objects, eating habits and manner of dress, buildings, etc….
MUSIC: music is a broad issue, we focus on documentaries dealing with musicians, the style (blues, rock, classical, etc. )
For the 2019 edition we are also looking for: science, art, history, literature, travel, mockumentaries, animated documentaries.
We are NOT looking for documentaries with some political overtones or preference.

SUBMISSION CONTACT: The submitter shall be either a producer, director or authorized agent of the film. All communication will be sent to the person submitting.

CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT: Submissions will be acknowledged by e-mail upon receipt using the e-mail tool included with your online submission platform.

PLEASE. DO NOT SEND: In keeping with our effort to become a carbon neutral festival, we request that you DO NOT SEND press kits, photo stills, or any other publicity materials before your film is accepted.

LANGUAGE: All films with non-Dutch dialogue must have ENGLISH subtitles.

ENTRY FEES: Entry fees are non-refundable and the fees listed are per entry, in U.S. dollars. It is good to know that all of the entry fee will be used to cover the cost for accommodations for directors of accepted films that are visiting DOCfeed.

FEE WAIVERS: NO FEE WAIVERS will be considered. Don't e-mail us, don't phone us, don't hunt us down on the streets - we've worked very hard to create an affordable submission system that offsets a (very) small portion of our costs. Trust us... filmmaker submission fees are not a revenue generator for any festival.

RETURN of SUBMISSION USK or DISKS: If you'd like your acceptance copy returned, include a self-addressed, stamped mailing package. Screeners will otherwise not be returned.

SELECTION PROCESS: All submissions are screened and evaluated by the DOCfeed review and Selection Committees. Their reports and decisions are final and confidential.

NOTIFICATION: All accepted entrants will be notified on or before January the 2nd 2019 via e-mail. Filmmakers whose films are not selected to screen at DOCfeed will also be notified by this date via email. All materials should be in our office before February the 1st 2019. Please note that the organization can change the program and exclude your film if we do not receive it before the stated date.

EXHIBITION FORMAT: Once a film is accepted, every attempt will be made by DOCfeed organizers to exhibit your film on the preferred exhibition format. However, due to budget and our movie venues, we prefer to EXHIBIT the following formats:
You can submit your film on a USB or external hard disk (include a self-addressed, stamped mailing package, screeners will otherwise not be returned) or send us a link were we can download the film.

TRAVEL/ACCOMMODATIONS for FILMMAKERS: ALL filmmakers are encouraged to attend and we totally wish we could cover everyone’s flight and hotel rooms, but we just don’t have the resources. Damn budgets! However, we will provide each selected film with a complimentary 2- or 3-night Hotel stay for two persons in Eindhoven to attending filmmakers - features and shorts.

PASSES/TICKETS for FILMMAKERS: Visiting filmmakers will get two passes that will grand you to access all the films and workshops during the festival. Complimentary Festival Passes and single tickets are available to attending filmmakers. Quantities are dependent on film length, category and based on availability. DOCfeed representatives will communicate this information to filmmakers upon acceptance of film/s.

ARTIST REMUNERATION: Unfortunately, we can only pay for the hotel and festival passes, no screening fees are available.
