Images are a universal language with the power to tell stories, evoke emotions and transport the viewer to unimaginable places. In the context of caving and canyoning, cinematography becomes an essential tool for revealing the beauty and mysteries of both the underground world and the canyons and ravines of the mountains.

The depths of caves and canyons offer a unique landscape which, hidden from
the eyes of those who do not venture inside, finds in the audiovisual medium a privileged vehicle for conveying knowledge, emotion and values, and for enabling them to discover impressive rock formations, underground rivers and exceptional ecosystems, revealing an environment that defies the imagination. These images not only capture the majesty of nature, but also highlight the fragility of these spaces
and the need to protect them.

Caving, cave diving and canyoning are not merely sporting or technical
disciplines, but also foster fundamental human values: self-improvement, collaboration, perseverance, teamwork and respect for nature are essential to these
experiences, and for this reason, in this competition, we seek not only to reward creativity and technical quality, but also to highlight the stories behind each image.

We want the submitted works to serve as a bridge between the viewer and a
sense of wonder for these natural environments, promoting a message of
conservation and respect for the earth we inhabit.

In this spirit, and with a view to continuity, the Espeleo Canyoning Cinema ASEDEB was launched in 2026, a competition that seeks to recognise and promote audiovisual works reflecting exploration, adventure and the human values associated with caving and canyoning, bringing them closer to society and contributing to their responsible dissemination.

Premi in contanti: 7,000€

The following prizes will be awarded in each category and category:

- Special Audience Award

- “José Antonio Berrocal Memorial” Special Prize

• Awarded by the ASEDEB Board of Directors to a film submitted by an ASEDEB member, with particular emphasis placed on the film’s portrayal of the values of outdoor sports, camaraderie, ethics and respect for the natural environment. The award consists of:

* Certificate
* Trophy
* A prize of sports equipment valued at €750.00 Cash prizes will be subject to the applicable tax regulations in force at the time of award.

A single film may be eligible to win several prizes in different categories.

Entry requirements

• Entry is free of charge.

• The deadline for submitting films for selection is 10 August 2026, with the films comprising the official programme to be announced on 10 September 2026.

• Films must be submitted via Festhome.com

• The completed registration form must be sent to inscripciones@cinemaasedeb.es

• Entries must be thematically and visually related to one of the established categories.

• Films may have been produced using any audiovisual technique, although
those generated by AI to an extent exceeding 10% will not be accepted.

• Entries must be original and must not infringe the rights of third parties.

• All participants declare that they are the authors of the films submitted and hold the rights to broadcast and publicly screen them.

• The language of the entries must be Spanish or, failing that, they must be
subtitled in Spanish using text already embedded in the image or accompanied by
the corresponding SRT file.

• Films must have been produced after 1 January 2023.

• Registration is free and must be completed using the attached form or by
downloading it from the website www.cinemaasedeb.es

• Digital media and files will not be returned, as at the end of the edition, those not selected or awarded prizes will be destroyed.

* By entering this competition, entrants accept each and every one of these Rules, with the Organisers reserving the right to resolve any matters not covered herein.
