Experimental Superstars is an international festival of experimental films.

We accept experimental films, experimental documentaries and music video works that use film techniques, whether they rely on dance film, animation, or other experimental film techniques.

We are not a big festival, but we have dedicated audience and versatile and quality program.

Only works that can be presented as part of the screening will be included in the selection, no video installations.

Festival takes place in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The two-member jury decides on the winners by consensus - there are no overrides.

Jury members are not necessary film makers, we are trying to include artist from the wide spectrum of visual arts or music.

One winner will be announced in each category, with the possibility of special mentions.

The awards are symbolic. No money, only eternal glory.

The duration of the work is not limited, although due to the limited duration of program slots, priority is given to works shorter than 30 minutes.

We accept works created in the previous two years.

We do not have a request regarding the status of the premiere, but priority will be given to works that have not been shown previously in Novi Sad.

You can apply using the internet platform in one of three categories:
- An experimental film
- Experimental documentary film
- Music video

The Ex(YU)perimental category is open to films from the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Due to the very modest production conditions in which an experimental film is created in the region, this category is exempt from paying the participation fee. Works created in the countries of the former Yugoslavia are registered in that category, regardless of whether they are documentary, musical or experimental films. The works, if they pass the selection, will be screened in one of the categories mentioned above.

The selector reserves the right to place films from one category in the selection process into another category if there is a programmatic justification for that.

There is no need to submit a film in multiple categories if you are not sure where it belongs!

You can register an unlimited number of works if they meet the above conditions.

There is no withdrawal of works after the published selection.

Unfortunately, we are unable to pay the screening fee. The entry fee is symbolic and helps the festival to happen even if it is not supported by funds. If for some reason you are unable to pay it, do not hesitate to contact us at experimentalsuperstars@gmail.com
