FANTASTIC:BRASIL – International Fantastic Film Festival of Brazil is a festival dedicated to the celebration of fantastic cinema in all its forms, bringing together filmmakers, audiences, and industry professionals around genre films from Brazil and around the world.
The festival presents a diverse selection of feature films and short films, highlighting new voices, innovative approaches, and distinctive visions within fantastic cinema.

TERMS AND REGULATIONS
1. General Terms
1.1. FANTASTIC:BRASIL – International Fantastic Film Festival of Brazil is a showcase dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of fantastic cinema, featuring competitive sections for international, Ibero-American, and Brazilian productions.
1.2. The call for entries is open to feature films and short films from fiction, documentary, animation, experimental cinema, and other cinematic forms connected to the fantastic genre.
1.3. For the purposes of these regulations:
Feature Film: a film with a running time of more than 40 minutes.
Short Film: a film with a running time of up to 40 minutes.
1.4. Films must belong to the fantastic genre or include elements connected to its different forms and territories, including, but not limited to, fantasy, science fiction, horror, thriller, surrealism, magical realism, creatures, imaginary worlds, and other related expressions of genre cinema.
2. Competitions
The official competitive program is divided into the following categories:
2.1. International Competition
Feature Films
Short Films
Open to productions from any country, except those eligible for the Brazilian National Competition.
2.2. Ibero-American Competition
Feature Films
Short Films
Open to productions from Ibero-American countries.
2.3. Brazilian National Competition
Feature Films
Short Films
Open exclusively to Brazilian productions.
2.4. The Selection Committee reserves the right to move a film to a different competition if it determines that the film is more appropriately classified in another section.
3. Eligibility
3.1. Films must have been completed after January 1, 2025.
3.2. There is no premiere requirement unless otherwise specified in the official call for entries.
3.3. Films that have previously participated in other festivals, showcases, exhibitions, or online platforms are eligible.
3.4. Entries must be submitted by the producer, director, distributor, sales agent, or an authorized representative of the film.
3.5. By submitting a film, the applicant confirms that they have the necessary rights and authorization to enter the film in FANTASTIC:BRASIL
4. Submission
4.1. Submissions must be made through the platforms officially designated by FANTASTIC:BRASIL
4.2. The submission form must be completed in full. By submitting a film, the applicant agrees to these Terms and Regulations.
4.3. A film will only be considered officially submitted once the required screening link or screener has been successfully received.
4.4. Films may be submitted through a private viewing link or via Festhome according to the conditions established in the official call for entries.
4.5. Once submitted, a film may not be withdrawn from the selection process without prior authorization from the festival organization.
5. language and subtitles
5.1. Films may be submitted in their original language.
5.2. Films not in Portuguese should have Portuguese or english subtitles for selection purposes, according to the requirements established by the organization.
5.3. If selected, the festival may request a screening copy with Portuguese subtitles.
6. Selection Process
6.1. Film selection will be carried out by the FANTASTIC:BRASIL Selection Committee.
6.2. The decisions of the Selection Committee are final.
6.3. The organization may assign a selected film to a different competition from the one indicated at submission if it considers that another section is more appropriate.
6.4. Selected films will be notified by email and/or through the official communication channels of FANTASTIC:BRASIL
6.5. Selected films may not be publicly announced before the official announcement by FANTASTIC:BRASIL
7. Materials for Selected Films
The representatives of selected films must provide, within the deadline established by the organization, the materials required for communication, catalog, and exhibition purposes. These may include:
Exhibition copy of the film.
Trailer.
Short and long synopsis.
Technical and artistic credits.
Director's biography and filmography.
Film stills.
Poster or key art.
Director's photograph.
Available press materials.
Any additional information requested by the organization.
FANTASTIC:BRASIL may use these materials for the promotion, communication, and dissemination of the showcase and the selected films.
8. Exhibition
8.1. By submitting a film and accepting its selection, the rights holder authorizes its screening as part of the official activities of FANTASTIC:BRASIL, under the conditions communicated by the organization.
8.2. FANTASTIC:BRASIL will determine the dates, times, and venues for the screening of selected films.
8.3. The number of screenings for each film will be determined by the organization according to the official program.
8.4. Selection does not imply the payment of a screening fee unless expressly agreed upon by the organization.
9. awards
9.1. FANTASTIC:BRASIL will present awards and/or special recognitions within its official competitions.
9.2. awards will be determined by the juries appointed by the organization.
9.3. The jury may grant special mentions in each competition.
9.4. The organization will announce the awards and recognitions through its official communication channels.
10. Jury
10.1. The juries will be appointed by the FANTASTIC:BRASIL organization.
10.2. Jury members will act independently and according to professional criteria.
10.3. The decisions of the jury are final.
11. Responsibility
11.1. By submitting a film, the applicant declares that all information provided is accurate and that they hold the necessary rights and authorizations to submit the film.
11.2. FANTASTIC:BRASIL shall not be held responsible for disputes involving copyright, image rights, music rights, performance rights, or any other rights related to the submitted work.
11.3. Any matter not expressly covered by these regulations will be decided by the organization of FANTASTIC:BRASIL
12. Acceptance of the Regulations
Submission of a film constitutes full knowledge and acceptance of these Terms and Regulations.
The interpretation and application of these regulations shall be the responsibility of the FANTASTIC organization.
