The Trujillo Film Festival is a non-profit event, the only one of its kind in the country, dedicated entirely to disseminating Peruvian cinematography.

The initiative has won the prize of the National Film and Audiovisual Cultural Management Contest three times, awarded by the Ministry of Culture, thanks to its promotional role and its decentralizing work in our cinema.

The jury will award the following prizes:

-Best Fiction Film (Feature Film and Short Film)

-Best Documentary Film (Feature Film and Short Film)

RULES - FECIT 2022

The Trujillo Film Festival - FECIT announces the call to participate in its 9th edition. The registration period is from August 1 to September 10, 2022, exclusively through https://festhome.com/festival/fecit or by filling out the information in the online form.

This 2022 the FECIT will return to its face-to-face activities, keeping some in virtual mode. The objectives do not change and are strengthened in the use of new media and new technologies. Promoting the production, training, dissemination, marketing and exhibition of Peruvian cinema and audiovisual will continue to be the main line of work.

This ninth edition, the exhibition of the feature films and short films in competition will be viewed in person at the FECIT headquarters from October 10 to 15, 2022.


1. It will compete in the categories of Fiction and Documentary, both include feature films and short films.

2. Only Peruvian free-theme productions completed between 2020 and 2022, which have not participated in editions prior to this call, will participate.

3. The dialogues, narrations and other texts of the films must be in Spanish; otherwise, the copies will be sent subtitled in that language. Subtitling costs will be borne by the producer.

4. Films that have been commercially released in Peru can compete.

5. The duration, in the case of feature films, should be between 60 to 120 minutes, and in short films it should not last more than 25 minutes.

6. The selected feature films and short films will be communicated to their producers and/or directors by email and will be screened free of charge at the FECIT headquarters according to the schedule established by the organization.

7. FINAL PROVISIONS

a. The Festival reserves the right to select the works that participate in the different sections and to establish the order and date of exhibition of each film. Once the acceptance of a work and the section of the Festival in which it will participate have been communicated by the Selection Committee to the author, the work cannot be withdrawn before its screening at the contest.

b. After the films in the official selection of the festival have been communicated, the representatives or holders of the rights of the work will sign a document AUTHORIZING THE LICENSE FOR THE NON-EXCLUSIVE USE OF AN AUDIOVISUAL WORK FOR THE EXHIBITION IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE FECIT 2022 that will be sent by email. mail.

c. Registration implies full acceptance of these rules.

d. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to withdraw from the competition during any phase of the process works that, with intent, omission or error, have provided incorrect information in the registration of their work or do not meet the necessary technical requirements for their projection and dissemination.
and. The selected copies will be part of the Festival archive. In the case of short films, they may be exhibited non-profit as part of their promotion, prior communication to their directors or producers of the film.

8. RIGHTS OF THE PARTICIPATING WORKS

The participants declare that they are the only and real owners of the audiovisual works that are presented at the festival, both in case of being the author and owners of the same. In case of falsity in the affidavit, because they are not the owners of the same, the responsibility for any claim by third parties will be exclusively of the participant who presents the work, without the festival having anything to respond to third parties.
The participants declare that they have all the rights involved in the work.
The participants state that they release the festival from any liability for any claim regarding the ownership of the work and/or lack of authorization regarding the rights contained therein.

9. SENDING COPIES FOR EXHIBITION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE DELIVERY OF DIGITAL FILES OF THE WORK AND SUBTITLES
The cinematographic work must be delivered through an internet file exchange service, through the Festhome platform or to the email inscripciones.fct@gmail.com

a. The work must not contain bars, clapperboard or other types of notices other than film credits. There should be no interlaced or pixelated effects on the image.

b. Type of video file of the work: the digital file of the film must be in the highest quality, using high compression standards and according to the following specifications:

Allowed file formats: MP4, MOV. Allowed video codecs: H.264, ProRes. Allowed audio codecs: AAC, PCM.

Video file size: Up to 20 GB (Feature Films) and Up to 10 GB (Short Films). Larger files will not be accepted.

Resolution: It should be the following: Full HD, the resolution at 1920 x1080 px. Another resolution will be accepted, only when the source material has a different quality.
