Since ancient times, human emotions have been intense and profound, driving both acts of love and acts of hate. History, written by those who have triumphed, often does not fairly reflect all voices. Although it seemed that intolerance and hatred were things of the past, reality shows otherwise. Today, the LGBTIQ+ community faces significant challenges.

It is essential for queer, lesbian, gay, trans, and all those identified with sexual diversity to unite in celebrating love and diversity. This is a call to gather, show love, and honor the struggle and sacrifice of those who paved the way. In a world where hate becomes the constant and exclusion becomes part of the norm, loving becomes a powerful act. Unity and love are the tools to build an inclusive future where being different is a fundamental right and an expression of freedom.

The BOGOTÁ RAINBOW FILM FESTIVAL is a non-competitive cinematographic event, and no exhibition fee is paid.

1. DATE AND PLACE OF THE FESTIVAL: From June 23 to 29, 2026, in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.


2. SUBMISSION DATE: From January 18 to May 25, 2026, it will be divided into two deadlines: Early deadline (From August 13 to 31, 2025) and Regular deadline (From September 1, 2025, to March 10, 2026)


3. DATE OF NOTIFICATION OF THE OFFICIAL SELECTION AND LAUNCH OF THE FESTIVAL: The notification of the selected ones in the festival will be made on May 27, 2026, via email. The Launch of the Festival and the socialization of the Official Selection to the press and different media will be done in June 2026, along with the announcement of allies, sponsors, screening venues, partners, official image, trailer, and jury.


4. CATEGORIES AND COSTS OF THE COMPETITION: The Festival will be divided into the following categories:

National Short Film: Fiction or documentary film between 1 and 35 minutes long, whether Live Action or Animation of free theme, made in Colombia or by Colombians.

National Feature Film: Fiction or documentary film longer than 60 minutes, whether Live Action or Animation of free theme, made in Colombia or by Colombians.

International Short Film: Fiction or documentary film between 1 and 35 minutes long, whether Live Action or Animation of free theme, made by anyone in any country in the world.

International Feature Film: Fiction or documentary film longer than 60 minutes, whether Live Action or Animation of free theme, made anywhere in the world.

College Film: Fiction or documentary film with no duration limit, whether Live Action or Animation of free theme, made by anyone in any country in the world within a college educational process (must be verifiable, any attempt of fraud will result in automatic disqualification without the right to receive any refund).

Registration prices per deadline:

National Short Film: Earlybird deadline (0 USD) / Regular deadline (5 USD)

National Feature Film: Early deadline (5 USD) / Regular deadline (10 USD)

International Short Film: Early deadline (3 USD) / Regular deadline (8 USD)

International Feature Film: Early deadline (10 USD) / Regular deadline (20 USD)

College Film: Earlybird deadline (0 USD) / Regular deadline (3 USD)


5. PARTICIPATING WORKS: Films from all over the world can participate. If the film is in english or a language other than Spanish, Spanish subtitles are required. If the film is in Spanish, nothing else is required. Only works from the year 2023 onwards are accepted.


6. REGISTRATION: Applicants must enter FestHome and complete the corresponding registration. Films sent by any other means will not be accepted.


7. SUBMISSION OF WORKS: To submit works, the digital file of the film in high definition (.MOV or .MP4 in H.264 or H.265) must be uploaded to a virtual platform (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, etc.) and the download link sent via email. The email must include the document where the FESTIVAL has the right to exhibit the material.


8. RECOGNITION: Official recognitions (Official Selection certification) will be given to the selected works that request it. In addition, the corresponding laurels for Press Kits and posters will be sent to all selected works.


9. REQUIREMENTS: Apart from the high-quality video file, a basic Press Kit (poster, 5 frames of the film, banner, director's photograph, trailer) is required. If selected, the applicant must place the FESTIVAL laurels on the poster and banner.


10. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By registering, those responsible for the films classified in the Official Selection accept that their films will be exhibited in the different activities of the FESTIVAL in its 2026 edition and in subsequent events. They also accept the use of image extracts from the films for promotional purposes of the FESTIVAL through media. The submitted material will not be returned and will become part of the FESTIVAL's archive. The FESTIVAL is not responsible for possible infringements related to copyrights, these being the responsibility of the person registering the work. The shipping costs for the registration of the works will be borne by the participants. The BOGOTÁ RAINBOW FILM FESTIVAL is a non-competitive cinematographic event, and no exhibition fee is paid.
