The Ancash Film Festival celebrates its 6th anniversary, transforming through cinema—traveling, learning, and finding its own horizon—through its work, balancing both its educational mission and the films it hosts, embraces, and shares.

We are an Ancash-based festival committed to the cultural development of the region, fostering new filmmakers and promoting change through cinema with a sustainable development approach aligned with the 2030 Agenda (SDGs).

For this 6th edition, the Festival presents three competitive categories.

Three main prizes will be awarded in each corresponding category.

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION: KUYAY MUNDO

This category invites filmmakers from around the world to present works that care for the planet and humanity through the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. We seek stories that inspire peace, love, empathy, and sustainable solutions to today’s global challenges.

Works may have been produced anywhere in the world, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes, with no restrictions on nationality or genre. However, they must have been premiered from 2024 onward. If possible, participants should specify which SDG their work relates to. Films not in Spanish must include subtitles.


PERUVIAN SHORT FILM COMPETITION: QUIPU WILLAKUY, STORIES OF PERU

A competition dedicated to works that, like knots in a quipu, preserve the experiences and hopes of contemporary Peru. Each filmmaker contributes their narrative thread in an act of creative reciprocity, allowing us to collectively weave the complex and beautiful Peruvian identity. It is a space where national talent comes together to create a collective and decentralized message.

Works must have been produced in Peruvian territory or by a Peruvian filmmaker, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and no genre restrictions. However, they must have been premiered from 2024 onward. Films not in Spanish must include subtitles.


THE SPIRIT OF ÁNCASH

This category welcomes any visual proposal that captures the essence of our region. We seek pieces that convey the spirit of Áncash—its culture and natural environment—regardless of whether they were filmed vertically or horizontally, using a mobile phone or a professional camera.
