Independent World Film Festival invites students of film, visual arts, communication and related careers, as well as independent filmmakers, amateurs and professionals, from around the world, to participate in its 2 Edition 2026, which will take place in various venues from Colombia.

World Film Festival is a space for the support, diffusion and exhibition of cinematographic works; is presented as a non-profit medium and its priority is independent cinema made by emerging creators around the world.

The films that are presented do not participate for any prize or economic remuneration, since the main objective of the Exhibition is to offer the possibility to new filmmakers to make their work known, as well as to offer a dialogue between the author and the viewer; In order to carry it out, the World Film Festival holds Q&A sessions between the filmmaker and part of his team with the audience; as well as conferences and discussion tables on different topics of interest, with special guests experts in universal cinematography.

Open call from November 8 2025 to August 4 2026 (with three stages).

Notifying those selected on September 4.

The 30 selected filmmakers will be screened in the month of October in movie theaters across the country.

Directors will have the opportunity to attend online question and answer sessions during the Show.

All selected films will receive laurels, will be promoted on the digital mici platform and will receive written and signed recognition from the organizers of the World Film Festival.
The winning films will receive a trophy.

Short Films (1–29 minutes), Medium-Length Films (30–59 minutes) and Feature Films (60–120 minutes)


Productions made during 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.


A maximum of two works per participant.


Films from all over the world are eligible.


Works from any category or genre are accepted.



TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS


The World Film Festival accepts fiction, documentary, docufiction, animation and experimental films, as well as all existing cinematic genres.


During the selection process, creative authenticity and the proper use of cinematic language will be the main criteria taken into account.




Films from all parts of the world are eligible to participate.


Any fraud, false information, or attempt to deceive the World Film Festival will result in immediate and indisputable disqualification.
All films will undergo a pre-selection process. Those that meet the requirements of this call and the quality criteria established by the organizing committee and a panel of expert judges will become part of the Official Selection of the World Film Festival.
Dates, schedules, and screening venues will be communicated by email. The decision regarding the selection and programming of the showcase is final and not subject to appeal.
Once the Official Selection is established, the World Film Festival will contact the filmmakers.
If selected, the filmmaker will be asked to submit the film with Spanish subtitles.

Once selected, the filmmaker authorizes the screening of the film in various activities organized by the Festival.
These screenings will be notified in advance and will be conducted without profit motive.
