OFFICIAL SHORT FILM SELECTION

Only Mexican short films will be chosen.

Maximum duration: 30 minutes.

REGULATION

Festival Venue and Date: The 7th edition of the PUERTO FESTIVAL will take place from December 1 to 4, 2021 in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, with official headquarters at the Villasol Beach Club, Bacocho Beach.

SECTIONS

1. Mexican Short Films (Fiction, Non-Fiction, Documentary, Experimental, Animation).

2. The festival committee will select the short films that will make up the programming of the 7th edition of the FESTIVAL DEL PUERTO. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

REGISTRATION CONDITIONS

1. Entries to be part of the official selection can be made from September 6 to October 10, 2021 at 23:59 HRS. Registration is through the FESTHOME platform.

2. Short films produced in 2020 and 2021 may participate.

3. Works recorded in digital format or filmed in 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, whose display format is Blu-ray, Apple ProRes422 HQ (1920 x 1080 24 fps), and H 264 digital file (.MOV) will be accepted.

4. Short films will be screened with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

5. For the short film to be selected, it will not be a requirement that it be PREMIERE in Mexico. Short films that have been screened in any other festival held in Mexico or abroad may participate.

6. The publication of the results of the short films that will make up the official selection will take place on November 11, 2021, through the social networks of FESTIVAL DEL PUERTO and the official website of the festival www.festivaldelpuerto.com. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

1. ONLINE REGISTRATION: through the Festival del Puerto website www.festivaldelpuerto.com/convocatoria, through the FESTHOME site.

SELECTED SHORT FILMS

1. Selected works must be submitted in Apple ProRes422 HQ digital file (1920x1080 24 fps) or H.264 .mov file

2. They must deliver three Blu-rays subtitled in English if their original language is Spanish or subtitled in Spanish if their original language is another.

3. By completing the registration of the short films, the owners of the rights undertake to accept these regulations and, consequently, to exhibit said work during the dates, venues and platforms determined by the festival.

4. The competitive section of the festival will be awarded by a Jury chosen by the Festival committee, which will be made up of renowned personalities and professionals from the film industry.

5. The owner of the short film (director / producer) accepts the exhibition in different venues, in the web platform at the festivals site and on different occasions, of the film from December 1 to 4, 2021.

6. The jury's decision will be final.

7. All the information required for the catalog and the dissemination material of the selected short films must be sent to the email comunicacion@festivaldelpuerto.com

8. The owner of the short film (director / producer) accepts and grants the rights to the Festival del Puerto to use images of the chosen short film for dissemination purposes.
