Our association aims to create a film festival celebrating emotions to complement and revitalize the cultural offerings in rural areas, rooted in
its territory of Remiremont and the Vosges Mountains.

Surprise, fear, sadness, anger, joy... Cinema is characterized by these words, these EMOTIONS; everyone has film memories, powerful moments, personal or collective, touching, experienced thanks to cinema.

What a surprise it was when we realized that
EMOTIONS didn't have THEIR OWN Festival!

Emotions are at the heart of our lives; they speak to everyone, regardless of age or background. It's about telling the world in our
way, succeeding in making others visible and making them understand that we share a common humanity with them—this is the very heart of the project. This festival aims to be welcoming, accessible, open to a wide audience, and participatory;
exchange is its essence. In short, a festival that makes you feel good.

The spirit of the festival

The festival celebrates sensitive, human, and sincere cinema, capable of touching the viewer through the power of the emotions it evokes: joy, sadness, love, anger, hope, nostalgia, rebellion, wonder...

Film Screening Conditions

A French visa will be required for screening. If the film does not have one, an alternative must be found.

No payment may be requested by production or distribution companies for screening films in competition.
Submission implies full and unreserved acceptance of the festival regulations.

Selected films must be accompanied by a link to excerpts, a synopsis, a photo of the director, a selection of stills from the film, and a technical and artistic information sheet.

A film cannot be withdrawn once selected.

IMAGE & MEDIA RIGHTS

● By participating in the festival, festivalgoers and filmmakers agree that photos and videos may be taken for the purposes of communicating and promoting the Festival.

For registration to be valid, copies must be accompanied by a registration form and the regulations signed by the rights holder.

If selected, rights holders agree to provide all necessary materials for promoting the festival (photos, articles, etc.).

If selected, rights holders agree to provide a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for screening.
Selected films will be screened in DCP format only. DCP files must be submitted to the festival, either in hard copy or digital format, before October 15, 2026. The file name must conform to DCP standards. Due to possible venue changes (decentralized screenings), we require productions to provide us with UNENCRYPTED files or files with a KDM key generated for the duration and all venues of the festival.

Participants are responsible for the cost of shipping their copies to the festival. The festival will cover the return shipping costs.
Representation

The festival invites the artists of the selected works to present their work. With the agreement of the rights holder, logistical costs may be shared. The rights holder agrees to forward the festival invitation to the film crew.

Travel Reimbursement

Travel expenses to Remiremont may be reimbursed. Each case will be reviewed by the organizing committee.

Media and Communication

The rights holders grant FFER, without any compensation, the right to reproduce photos or excerpts from the film for the production of the FFER trailer and promotional teaser, and for distribution in FFER publications, FFER promotional venues, the FFER website, and FFER social media, without time limit.

Image Rights

By accepting these regulations and in accordance with the provisions relating to image rights, you authorize the FFER to publicly communicate (on all communication and media platforms: social networks, print media, digital media, video, web, etc.) the photographs and videos taken during the Festival that depict you. During the FFER, all videos and images are taken with the consent and tacit agreement of the individuals present during the event, both on and off-site, during the officially indicated opening dates and times.
Rights – Ownership Guarantee and Chain of Rights

The submitter declares and warrants that they hold all necessary intellectual property rights to the submitted film, or that they have obtained all the required authorizations for its screening and use within the festival.

They certify that the chain of rights is complete, valid, and compliant with current regulations, particularly concerning musical works (original or pre-existing music), copyright, related rights, performers' rights, and image rights of the people and property depicted.

The submitter indemnifies the organizer against any claim, action, or recourse by third parties, of any nature whatsoever, based on an infringement of intellectual property rights or personality rights, and undertakes to bear sole responsibility for any resulting financial consequences.

The organizer reserves the right to request any supporting documentation relating to the rights attached to the film.

The festival does not require exclusivity. Films may have been submitted to and screened at other festivals. The film's itinerary must be clearly indicated on the registration form.

The Festival Association's Board of Directors is responsible for resolving any cases not covered by these regulations. It may also grant exceptions to the above provisions upon the express and justified request of the participants.

If necessary, the Passeurs d'Emotions association, organizer of the Remiremont Emotions Film Festival, reserves the right to modify these regulations. In the event of modifications, the rights holders will be informed of the changes made to the regulations.
