The Films 26 Festival – ALCE Awards is a short film festival that celebrates emerging talent and creativity within the short film format.

From May 2nd to September 19th, 2026, the festival brings together filmmakers, professionals, and audiences in a space where stories, told in just a few minutes, achieve a powerful impact. Through screenings, meetings, and activities, the ALCE Awards recognize excellence in the various disciplines of short film, giving visibility to new voices and promoting narrative and visual innovation. The festival was created with the aim of bringing cinema closer to the public and becoming a meeting point between the industry and the audience, highlighting the power of the short film format to move, surprise, and provoke thought.

SHORT FILM FESTIVAL RULES Alce awards 2026

1. PURPOSE The Alce awards 2026 is a short film festival created to promote and disseminate independent cinema, giving visibility to new talent and creating a meeting place for audiovisual professionals and the public.

2. PARTICIPATION All individuals or legal entities, of any nationality, who hold the rights to the submitted works may participate.

3. SHORT FILM REQUIREMENTS • Maximum duration: 20 minutes (including credits). • Genre: Open • language: Original version. If not in Spanish or Catalan, subtitles must be included. • Year of production: 2024 or later. • Works with offensive, discriminatory content or that violate fundamental rights will not be accepted.

4. REGISTRATION • Each participant may submit more than one work.

5. SELECTION A selection committee appointed by the organization will evaluate the submitted works and choose the short films that will be part of the official selection. The selected short films will be notified by email.

6. SCREENING The selected works will be screened on September 18, 2026, at the Santa Perpètua de Mogoda cinema, as part of the official festival program. Participants authorize the public exhibition of their works exclusively at this screening.

7. JURY The jury will be composed of professionals from the audiovisual and cultural sectors. Their decision will be final.

8. Awards CEREMONY The awards ceremony will be held on September 19, 2026, at the Santa Perpètua de Mogoda cinema. The awards will be presented along with their corresponding statuettes.

9. EXHIBITION RIGHTS The filmmakers grant the screening rights for the selected works exclusively for exhibition within the festival. The organizers may use excerpts from the films (maximum 1 minute) for promotional purposes on social media, websites, or other media outlets.

10. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES Participation in the festival implies full acceptance of these rules.

11. ORGANIZATION Festival organized by MyO24Films and Alcetalen.
