Belalcazar International Film Festival celebrates its first edition between July 19 and 23, 2022. Belalcázar is located in the north of the province of Córdoba (Spain), in the Valle de los Pedroches, a border enclave between the communities Andalusia, Extremadura and Castila La Mancha.
In this first edition, a call is made to filmmakers from all over the world, with works of less than 30 minutes that address any subject. There will be an official section with animation, documentary and fiction short films.

1. FEATURES
All filmmakers and producers of any nationality, over 18 years of age, who own the exhibition rights of the works they present, may participate. Each participant may attend with the audiovisual productions that he wishes.
Fiction, documentary and animation short films are admitted, excluding works of a commercial or advertising nature.
The production date of the short film must be after January 1, 2021.
The maximum duration of the short films will be 30 minutes, including the credits.
The theme of the short films will be free.
The dialogues of the works must be in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish.
2. REGISTRATION
The registration deadline will be July 3, 2022.
A standard registration fee of €5.00 is established.
3. SECTIONS
Official Section. The short films screened in the official section will be eligible for all the festival awards, except for those in the Belalcázar Rueda section (express short film competition to be held locally).
All prizes will be subject to the corresponding IRPF withholdings or other taxes, if any.
5. JURY AND SELECTION COMMITTEE
The festival selection committee will be in charge of choosing the works that will become part of the official competitive section, as well as the rest of the sections.
The jury that will decide on the awards will be different from the selection committee and will be made up of at least three people related to the cinematographic, cultural and/or artistic sector.
The jury will be in charge of awarding all the prizes except the youth prize, which will be awarded by a representation of young people between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of the festival, residing in the town or with a close relationship with it, being chosen after a draw and corresponding registration, whose call and bases will be duly announced on the festival website. Likewise, the public award will be decided by anonymous popular vote on the day of the projection of the official section.
The decision of the selection committee, the jury, the young jury and the public will be final.

The prizes will be paid by bank transfer in favor of the natural or legal person who has made the registration or is directly linked to the registered work in question, being subject to the legal withholdings established by current law. The trophies will be delivered at the final gala to the director, producer or relevant person from the artistic cast of each of the award-winning short films.
The winners in the categories of Jury Award for Best Short Film and Youth Award for Best Short Film must attend the Closing Gala to be held on July 23, 2022, provided that the residence of the director or address of the short film producer is within the Iberian Peninsula. His absence will be understood as a waiver of the prize awarded and the prize will go to the next short film that, at the discretion of the jury, has been in the next place.
The organization will not be responsible for the shipping costs of the trophies of those who do not attend the festival.
The jury reserves the right to award as many special mentions without financial endowment as it considers, as well as to declare void the prizes it deems appropriate.
7. GENERAL RULES
The festival will bear the accommodation costs of one representative of each award-winning film in the categories of Best Short Film and Young Award, up to a maximum of one night. The festival will contact the winners before the awards gala in order to facilitate the conditions of attendance and its organization, although the winners will not be made public until the closing gala.
The festival may exhibit the selected short films in the physical locations and times it deems appropriate during the days of the festival and in parallel screenings that may take place during the following two years, up to a maximum of five screenings.
The authors of the works selected for the competition who are present on the day of the Official Section may present their short film before its screening.
Participation implies authorization for the use of a fragment of the work and the complementary graphic material, for its dissemination as informative material in any communication medium, as well as on the Festival's website, official profiles on social networks, information screens or any other type of graphic material. No complete short film will ever be broadcast on these channels.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The author or owner will maintain their intellectual rights and it will be their responsibility so long as they are not subject to any legal responsibility and there are no third party rights. In any case, the Festival and its entire organization will remain unscathed in the event of bankruptcy due to this circumstance. The presentation of a short film at the Belalcázar International Film Festival entails, by the selected participants, the non-exclusive transfer of the material to the organizing entities for its use in activities related to the festival.
9. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Registration implies full acceptance of these rules.
Any question not foreseen in the bases will be resolved by the organization of the festival.
The organization of the Belalcázar International Film Festival reserves the right to modify these rules if necessary, either for reasons beyond the control of the organization or for any other reason that forces it.
All participants, by virtue of being participants, fully accept these rules as well as the resolution by the Festival organization of any unforeseen event not included in them.
