The FICMY International Film Festival of Mérida and Yucatán has as its main objective to promote and disseminate Mexican and Latin American cinema (free theme), supporting new filmmakers and providing an important exhibition space, being the most relevant festival in southeastern Mexico. Likewise, one of the priorities of the festival is destined to the exhibition of works that have among its central themes to rescue, preserve, strengthen, prevent and spread the values, principles, traditions, customs, native languages, artistic expressions and the great diversity of the original peoples of the whole world.

LATIN AMERICAN SECTION
Best Feature Fiction.

FICMY recognition.
Minimum duration of 60 additional minutes credits. Receive: the Director.

Best Short Fiction / Documentary. FICMY recognition.

Minimum duration of 5 min. and maximum of 30 min. including credits Receive: the Director.

Note: without exceptions, all competing works of the Latin American Section require to be subtitled in spanish language if their original language is different from spanish, and subtitled in english if their original language is in spanish.
Projects with year of completion from the second half of 2019 and 2020 are considered.

MEXICAN SECTION
Best Feature Fiction

Note: without exceptions, all competing works of the mexican section require to be subtitled in english language if their original language is spanish; If your original language is different from spanish, it may be subtitled in spanish.

Note: without exceptions, all competing works of the En Lák ́ Ech Platform must be subtitled in spanish language if their original language is different from spanish and subtitled in english if their original language is in spanish.
Projects with year of completion from the second half of 2019 and 2020 are considered.

The International Film Festival of Merida and Yucatan - FICMY Merida & Yucatan Film Festival, summons producers and filmmakers from all over the world to register their films in the sections and platforms in competition of the sixth edition of the festival, to be held from november 24 to 29 of 2020.

COST
Enrollment costs are handled through the Festhome Platform.

BASES AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
1.- Register through the Festhome platform.

2.- The inscriptions will be from the publication of this call until 12:00 hours on september 5, 2020.

3.- Works that register after the closing of this call will not be accepted.

4.- The links and passwords of all registered works must remain valid from the day of registration and until the day the festival ends, and the samples made for the winning films.

5.- The selection of the registered works will be in charge of a committee formed by experienced members of the audiovisual industry, and its decision will be final.

6.- The official results of the films selected in competition will be announced on tuesday, september 29, 2020, on the official website www.ficmy.com.mx and social networks of the festival.

7.- Once selected, films may not be removed from the competition (programming) under any circumstances.

8.- The representatives of the selected films agree to send a copy of the film in DCP format and a copy in Blu-Ray or two copies in Blu-Ray format in case of not having DCP to the address: 21 st. #117C between 24 and 24A, Itzimná, Merida, Yucatan CP 97100. Before monday, october 26.

9.- The shipping costs of the projection copies, as well as the printed materials for promotion and dissemination will be borne by the participants.

10.- In no case will pay for screening fees (exhibition rights) of the films selected at the festival.

11.- The FICMY may use extracts of up to one minute of the films selected for promotion and dissemination purposes during the festival.

12.- The representatives of the films selected in competition or out of competition, will have accreditations of the festival for their functions and events, in case of attending.

13.- The selected works may be part of national and international samples in which the FICMY participates during 2020 - 2021.

14.- The jury will be made up of recognized members of the national and international audiovisual industry and their decision will be final.

15.- The jury has the power to grant honorable mentions.

16.- The FICMY reserves the right to modify this call as it deems appropriate.
