The Seventh International Short Film Festival of Medellin FICME is a cultural event of the Fundación EPM, in partnership with the Corporación Educativa Instituto Metropolitano de Educación - CIME and the Centro Audiovisual Medellín - CAM, which seeks to actively contribute to the formation of audience in the region, Through the programming of short films and an academic agenda aimed for young people in the city.

In 2019, the FICME will once again be a place where attendees can enjoy short films from all over the world and national video-clips. It will be a meeting of techniques, narratives, aesthetics, visions and reflections that will serve to enrich the eyes of students from colleges and universities in the city and the public in general.

The FICME team welcomes you to a new edition and invites directors and producers from all over the world (professionals and amateurs) to register their short films in the different categories opened for this format and to Colombian filmmakers in the section for video clips.

Prêmios em dinheiro: 5,500$

FICME will provide awards in cash and / or services from its sponsors to the directors of the short films, which will be distributed among the winners of the competition as follows:

BEST FICTION
FICME Trophy and three million COP. M.L. ($ 3,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

BEST DOCUMENTARY
FICME Trophy and three million COP. M.L. ($ 3,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

BEST ANIMATION
FICME Trophy and three million COP. M.L. ($ 3,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

BEST SHORT SECTION CHILDREN AND YOUTH
FICME Trophy and two million COP. M.L. ($ 2,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

FIRST NATIONAL PRIZE
FICME Trophy and two million COP. M.L. ($ 2,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

SECOND NATIONAL PRIZE
FICME Trophy and one (1) prize (not in cash), yet to be announced by our sponsors.

PUBLIC PRIZE
FICME Trophy and two million COP. M.L. ($ 2,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

BEST VIDEOCLIP
FICME Trophy and two million COP. M.L. ($ 2,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

SECOND PRIZE FOR VIDEOCLIP
FICME Trophy and one million pesos COP M.L. ($ 1,000,000) (or its equivalent in foreign currency) in cash.

The costs of bank transfers, withholdings or taxes will be borne by the winners and will be
deducted directly from the prize.

SCHEDULE
- Opening submissions: Tuesday, July 16, 2019.
- Deadline: Monday September 16, 2019. 10:00 pm (Colombian time).
- Publication of selected works: Friday, October 11, 2019.
- Festival Dates: November 6 to 8, 2019.

1. GENERAL INFORMATION
If you wish to participate in this open call, you must first read the Terms and Conditions that you will find on the official website of the Festival and on the FESTHOME platform where you must register your film following the instructions indicated there. Keep in mind that by registering and submitting your work you are accepting the Terms and conditions of this open Call.

2. SECTIONS
2.1. SHORT FILMS
The competition is aimed at short films made not before January 2018. The winner of each category will receive the FICME Trophy. The Festival will manage incentives for each category represented in cash and, depending on the contributions of the sponsors, may also reward products and / or services.

The prizes will be given exclusively to the representative of each film. The selected works will be announced on Friday, October 11, 2019, through the official website and social networks of the Festival. The selection committee reserves the right to select a work and in any case the decision of the jury will be unappealable. All the information of the films that are part of the official selection will be published in the FICME catalog.
