Inizio del Festival: 27 ottobre 2026      Festival si chiude: 28 ottobre 2026

The Latin American Festival of Visual Anthropology (FLAV) is an academic and cultural initiative organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Universidad Diego Portales. It is dedicated to exhibiting and collectively reflecting upon visual anthropology and contemporary audiovisual practices within the Latin American context. To this end, the festival bridges practices from anthropology, filmmaking, and the visual arts through screenings, exhibitions, panel discussions, symposia, and workshops. We look for works created and produced by Latin American filmmakers or by creators from other regions whose work focuses on Latin American themes.

The festival aims to establish itself as a meaningful space for convergence in the Latin American context, promoting interdisciplinary exchanges, methodological reflections on research-creation, and the development of academic and creative networks with regional and international reach. Furthermore, this initiative seeks to foster languages that explore the social realm from sensitive, experimental, and critical perspectives.

In its inaugural edition, FLAV is particularly interested in short films that challenge the boundaries between cinema, art, and research. We look for proposals that do not merely attempt to represent reality, but rather activate sensitive forms of knowledge, exploring diverse questions through formal devices, engagement with archival materials, and collaborative creative processes.
