ACAS HUÁNUCO E.I.R.L., in coordination with the *Asociación Cultural Amigos por Siempre* (recognized as a "Cultural Hub" [Punto de Cultura] under Directorial Resolution No.
0143-2020/MC) and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Peru, invites audiovisual creators, producers, film students, cultural institutions, and the general public to participate in the 13th Huánuco Film Festival 2026 (FENACI 2026).

The festival will take place in various free-access cultural spaces across the city of Huánuco—including streets, parks, and main squares—as well as in different provinces within the Huánuco department and in regions bordering it. The initiative aims to decentralize access to cinema, foster audience development, and strengthen the growth of both Peruvian and international filmmaking.

Additionally, part of the program will be broadcast live via the festival's official social media channels, enabling viewers from across Peru and abroad to participate.

AWARDS

The 13th Huánuco Film Festival 2026 (FENACI 2026) will present awards to the best audiovisual works selected for the festival's various official sections. Prizes will consist of trophies, certificates, special commendations, and other incentives determined by the organizers.

The competitive categories are as follows:

Awarded to the short film garnering the highest level of audience interaction and approval via the festival's official digital platforms (FENACI TV, Facebook, and YouTube), in the following categories:

The organization may also award Special Prizes, Institutional Prizes, Press Awards, Audience Awards, Honorary Recognitions, and Special Mentions when circumstances and the quality of the works so warrant.

1. OBJECTIVES

The Huánuco Film Festival (FENACI) aims to promote, disseminate, and strengthen Peruvian cinema and the development of the audiovisual industry, fostering cultural and professional exchange among filmmakers, producers, distributors, students, institutions, and other stakeholders in the audiovisual sector from Peru, Latin America, and Europe.

Furthermore, the festival seeks to establish itself as a hub for exhibition, training, reflection, networking, and the exchange of experiences, driving the creation, circulation, and promotion of audiovisual works, as well as the development of new talent and film projects with national and international reach.

In pursuit of these objectives, the 13th Huánuco Film Festival (FENACI 2026) will take place from November 2 to 6, 2026. The program will feature official competitions, special screenings, training activities, meetings with industry professionals, the First Huánuco Audiovisual Market, the Huánuco 2026 Work in Progress, and other activities aimed at strengthening the Peruvian and international audiovisual ecosystem.

2. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Submitted audiovisual works must meet the requirements established for each official section of the 13th Huánuco Film Festival 2026 (FENACI 2026).

2.1. Official Section: Premiere Feature Films – APRECI Award

Peruvian feature films that have not had a commercial release or been screened in alternative circuits prior to their participation in the festival are eligible.

The categories are:

National Fiction.
Regional Fiction.
National Documentary.

Works must have a minimum runtime of:

75 minutes for fiction feature films.
60 minutes for documentary feature films.

2.2. Official Section: Previously Released Feature Films

Peruvian feature films that have already been released are eligible, provided they have not been commercially screened in the Huánuco region.

The categories are:

National Fiction.
National Documentary.

Works must:

Have a minimum runtime of 75 minutes.

Have been produced within the two (2) years prior to the call for entries.

2.3. Official Selection: Feature Films Made by Women

This section aims to recognize and highlight the work of women in Peruvian cinema.

Feature films directed by women are eligible, regardless of whether or not they have had a commercial or alternative release.

The categories are:

Fiction (minimum runtime of 60 minutes).
Documentary (minimum runtime of 50 minutes).

2.4. Official Selection: Premiere Short Films

Short films that have not previously been screened or selected at other film festivals are eligible to participate.

The categories are:

National Fiction Short Film.
National Documentary Short Film.
National Animation Short Film.

2.5. Official Selection: Short Films by Filmmakers from Huánuco

Short films made by filmmakers from Huánuco are eligible to participate, regardless of where they were produced (in Peru or abroad).

The categories are:

Fiction.
Documentary.
Animation.

Works must have been produced within the last three (3) years.

Must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
2.6. Official Selection: Music Videos from Huánuco

Artists, musical groups, and audiovisual creators may participate with music videos of any genre.


Music videos must:

Have a maximum duration of 8 minutes.
Have been produced within the last five (5) years.

2.7. Official Selection: "Cinema Goes to School" – Short Films
Peruvian and foreign short films aimed at school audiences or addressing educational themes are eligible to participate.

Works must:

Have a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
Have been produced within the last two (2) years.

2.8. Official Selection: "Cinema Goes to School" – Feature Films

Peruvian and foreign feature films aimed at school audiences or containing educational content are eligible to participate.

Works must:

Have a minimum duration of 75 minutes.
Have been produced within the last two (2) years.

2.9. Official Selection: International Short Films

Filmmakers from any country may participate with short films in the following categories:

Fiction.
Documentary.
Animation.

Works must:

Have been produced within the last two (2) years. Must have a maximum duration of 10 minutes.

Exceptionally, the Selection Committee may accept longer works when their artistic quality or cinematic relevance justifies it.

The awards will consist of certificates of recognition and other incentives determined by the organizers.

2.10. Official Selection: International Feature Films

This section will bring together a selection of international feature films invited by embassies, cultural institutes, distributors, producers, and filmmakers from various countries.

Additionally, interested parties who meet the call for entries' requirements may apply directly.

Works must:

Have a minimum runtime of 75 minutes.
Have been produced within the last two (2) years.

2.11. Official Selection: University Short Films

Students and graduates from public and private universities in Peru are eligible to participate.

The categories are:

Fiction.
Documentary.
Animation.

Works must:

Have a maximum runtime of 30 minutes.
Have been produced within the last two (2) years.

2.12. Official Selection: Short Films for FENACI TV
Short films intended for broadcast via the festival's official platforms (FENACI TV, Facebook, and YouTube) are eligible to participate.

The categories are:

Fiction.
Documentary.
Animation.

Works must have a maximum runtime of 30 minutes.

3. REGISTRATION AND DOCUMENTATION
Registration to participate in the 13th Huánuco Film Festival 2026 (FENACI 2026) is open to filmmakers, producers, audiovisual companies, institutions, and distributors from Peru and abroad.

Audiovisual works may be submitted until Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM (Peru time). Applications submitted after the established deadline will not be accepted.

Once the registration period has concluded, the Selection Committee will evaluate all works received between September 13 and October 1, 2026, considering criteria regarding artistic, narrative, and technical quality, as well as alignment with the festival's curatorial vision. All submission materials must be sent in digital format with a minimum resolution of Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels – 1080p), ensuring adequate image quality for evaluation and—if selected—for screening during the festival. Files must be submitted in .MP4 (H.264 codec) or .MOV format with stereo audio, unless the organizers subsequently request a different screening format (such as DCP).

The festival organizers may request additional materials for selected works, such as posters, photographs, trailers, technical specifications, synopses, director biographies, film stills, and other promotional elements necessary for the official promotion of the 13th Huánuco Film Festival (2026).
