2nd Edition - ISC-PANGEIA 2023

The second edition of the "International Short Film Festival - Pangeia" is dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of short audiovisual works with a specific theme established for each edition. The festival aims to gather films up to 10 minutes in length, produced by directors born or residing in the Americas, the Caribbean or Africa.

Films created specifically for the festival or finished before the current call can be submitted.

Objectives

The festival aims to provide a space for dissemination and incentive for the creation of short films, promoting a discussion about the black diaspora and its influences on the culture of the Americas in the 21st century.

The jury is composed of film and audiovisual professionals invited by the Festival organization, who will decide on the awards listed below. The jury's decision is supreme and autonomous.

Pangeia Award, jury decision:
Pangeia Award for Best Film:
R$2,000.00 (two thousand Brazilian reais) + certificate + professional sound finalization and mixing* + festival kit.

*The professional sound finalization and mixing can be used in the awarded film or in another film produced by the same filmmakers, who must schedule a meeting and send materials to the partner production company within 60 days after the award ceremony.

Audience Choice Award: Among the top 10 films selected by the jury for screening, the public can vote for their favorite film by liking it on the festival's YouTube channel. We suggest that you subscribe to the channel to follow the voting. The film with the most votes from the public receives the Audience Choice Award.

Pangeia Fiction Audience Choice Award - R$500.00 + certificate.

Honorable Mention - four films will be selected for screening with an honorable mention from the festival, receiving a certificate + festival kit.
The festival kits will only be sent to winners within the national territory.

Submitting a film to the Festival implies full acceptance of this regulation.

The FIC Pangeia is organized by the MisturArte Collective, sponsored by the Municipal Culture Secretariat of São Paulo through the 6th edition of the Periphery Culture Promotion Program, and has the cultural support of the independent production company Nome Filmes.

Registrations for the International Short Film Festival - Pangeia 2023 are open from April 4 to May 4, 2023.

Films of different languages, including fiction, documentary, experimental, hybrid and/or animation, can be submitted and should not exceed 10 minutes in length.

The films submitted can be produced specifically for the festival or completed before the current call, produced from 2018 onwards.

Films must be submitted through the Google form available at this link - FIC Pangeia 2023 Registration Form.

The directors can be Brazilian, foreign, immigrants born or residing in Brazil, countries of the Americas, the Caribbean and Africa.

All form items must be filled in correctly, and the
video link must be available on a YouTube platform as unlisted or on Vimeo protected by a password.
The organization is not responsible for links with errors or not available at the time of evaluation, so it is important to check if the links are correct, following the call's standards before sending and ensuring that they are active until the final result.

Directors can compete with up to two works, as long as they are registered on different forms, one for each work.

It is not allowed to alter the form after submission, so it is important to verify all data before clicking submit.

Films that have dialogue, speech, or narration must be submitted in Portuguese/BR language or with subtitles in Portuguese/BR.

It is essential that the person responsible for the film has all the rights under any aspects of the work, such as tracks, the right to use cast images, among others, and may be requested by the festival's production if necessary.

Registrations are available via the Google form provided in this call and on the Festhome website.

We will not accept registrations outside the deadline or sent through another platform.
