FICIFE is the first Mexican festival dedicated to railroad cinema, putting special emphasis on science fiction and documentary.
Seeks to claim this way of making movies,
instilling their appreciation and encouraging the realization of independent projects.
We believe that railroad cinema can include true stories to move us, inspire us and at the same time offer us readings and interpretations of our own reality.
The FICIFE Festival also has the mission of being an exhibition window for new and diverse talents
bringing them closer to new audiences and opportunities
Awards and qualifications
° Official Diploma for all final participants of the competitions.
° Statuette wagon to the first three places in
International science fiction short films.
° Statuette wagon to the first three places in
Science fiction short films Latin America.
° Statuette wagon to the first three places in
Documentary short films International
° Statuette wagon to the first three places in
Documentary short films Latin America
° Also, within each competition there are awards for Best Direction, Best Actress, Best Actor,
and Outstanding Artistic Achievement. Creditors receive diplomas of honor.
Participating Bases
- Maximum duration 20 minutes.
- Short films must have a "Railroad" reference.
- Short films made between 2017 and 2020.
- Two jobs per director will be accepted.
- The works can be shot in any format but can only be presented in MP4 through the official platforms that work with the festival.
Deadline for receipt of works will be March 30, 2020.
Works that are not in Spanish must be subtitled in Spanish.
- Each short film must be accompanied by: Title, Duration, Year, Synopsis, Country and place of filming, Language, Director, Actors, Poster and photogram, Email and Telephone.
-The festival is open to independent filmmakers.
-The works will be examined by the Festival team, if any immoral behavior is observed, they will not be admitted to the competition.
-The works can be sent by the festhome platform or email festivalficife@gmail.com.
-The organization reserves the possibility of making projections in other festivals, or samples with which collaborations are established.
- Those responsible for the works, which include the participation of third parties that require the corresponding authorizations for their exhibition.
The festival declines all responsibility respecting the image rights of the works.
The official selection and the finalists will be published on the web and in our social networks two weeks before the start of the festival.
All selected short films will be incorporated into the festival's video library,
The organization reserves the right of partial or total use of the material presented in order to promote the festival, always without profit.
- The inscription of the work implies that these bases are accepted, the breach of said requirements will leave the short film out of the contest.
If the winner wishes to visit the Festival, he runs on his own.
