Like every year, an absolutely remarkable event approaches, THE FRENCH-ENGLISH POETRY FESTIVAL from Paris where we are expected with our experimental films.
All the poems that were presented at the festival can be found at the following address: http://www.festrad.com/f/PrTr32.pdf
you can access them by using the password - ficchine - We have to do this in order to protect access to the poems before the festival from those that are not directly involved in this action.
This year the poems presented at the festival have been focused on a thematic having as a manifesto ,"LE POÈME COMME FICTION”. The guests of honour in this year’s festival will be Chinese poets.
Thus, we are invited that thorough our experimental films to present the poems presented at the festival through a new translation, that of the video language.
Some recommendations, it is good to limit ourselves when we do film illustration to 3 poems, ideally from three different authors. As expected, the attention has to be focused especially on Chinese poetry due to the fact that in this year the festival has Chinese poets as guests of honour.
Even though it is almost unnecessary to specify, I will still do it, reminding you that the experimental films that I expect from you represent a maximum affective reaction that you feel when reading the poems, an answer that you would give through video language, through your own sensitivity towards the chosen poem.
As for technical details it is good to limit yourself to maximum 5 minutes for each film. On the first page of the film please mention on the top of the screen FIFE – 2014 – PARIS and then followed by the text ,"37e FESTIVAL FRANCO-ANGLAIS DE POÉSIE - LA TRADUCTIÈRE 32". Under this text write the title of the chosen poem and the name of the author. Also include in the content of the film a minimum of 3 lyrics from the chosen poem either in written form or audio. Obviously, you have to give a special attention to the poem since the experimental films, that we are invited to make, can be perceived as a special form of translation of the poem in video language.
The films will be presented during the French-English Poetry Festival from Paris organized by the magazine LA TRADUCTIÈRE at the start of June in PLACE SAINT SUPLICE with the occasion of MARCHE DE LA POÉSIE.
The films will also be presented and participate in all the important European cultural events where the magazine LA TRADUCTIÈRE will be involved, the organizer of the festival, and also on my website: www.bochis.ro with all information about the festival, photographs, information concerning their involvement in other cultural events, etc.
The films also become an essential component in the NET-WORK that I have created on my web page, having as topic experimental film.
As always, I request your copyright permission with respect to using your films exclusively for cultural purposes, excluding their commercial use. I will use the films only for the purposes of promoting your creation as an important component for the current forms of contemporary art.
I will also hand out a copy of your films to the director of magazine LA TRADUCTIÈRE, Mr. JACQUES RANCOURT that has always involved the poems, presented in the films during the festival, in the most interesting contemporary art projects and whom has always respected the films sent by you by using them only in cultural projects, excluding their commercial use.
More information about the French-English Poem Festival and about Mr. JACQUES RANCOURT can be found at the address: www.festrad.com
