Honory awards

Conditions for participation: 



• The submitter must be the rights holder of the films and the attached promotional materials.


• Rights: Submitted films must be clear of all third-party rights.


• Three submissions maximum per director


• Genres: all genres accepted


• Filmlänge: max. length (per submission): 1 to 30 minutes


• languages: German and english or with english or german subtitles


• No promotional contents


• Submitted films must be suitable for audiences with maximum age rating: 16+.


• Submitted films must not contain explicit sexual content, excessive violence, or politically inflammatory material.


• Preview Copy: Please provide a link to an online streaming platform (e.g., Vimeo, YouTube). Please avoid file transfer services like WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc., if possible. 
 Preview copies will be kept in our archive and cannot be returned. We do not send confirmation of receipt for submissions. 


• Festival copy in HD quality (e.g. h264, apple proRes etc.). 


• Submission deadline: 31th august 2026

FilmGugger Film Festival Regulations

By participating in the festival, each participant agrees to the festival regulations. All genres and types of films are welcome. Participation is at the participant's own expense and responsibility.

Rights
By submitting a film, the submitter guarantees that they possess all rights to the submission and confirms that they have all necessary permissions and consents from the rights holders, project developers, authors, and producers. Furthermore, submitters guarantee that they possess all relevant rights and licenses for the public screening of their film, including any accompanying promotional and photographic materials. Third-party rights must not be infringed; the submitter is responsible for ensuring this. Any costs incurred in this regard will not be covered by the festival and are the responsibility of the submitter.

As part of the festival, screenings of submitted films are free of charge for the organizers, as guaranteed by the submitter.

Costs: Any costs incurred, including screening and licensing fees, transport or postage, travel, accommodation, or meals, are not covered by the festival and are the responsibility of the submitter.

Selection: All films are freely selected by an independent jury. There is no legal entitlement to the screening of a submitted film. The festival management's decision is final, and recourse to legal action is excluded.

Participation in the FilmGugger FilmFanFestival implies acceptance of the festival organizers' decisions. The festival organizers reserve the right to decide on all cases and violations not addressed in these regulations and to exclude participating filmmakers and contributors from the festival for breaches of conduct or regulations. By submitting their entry, the submitter confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted all regulations. All submitted data from the participant may be used in connection with this or future FilmGugger Festivals on its website and in the program. The festival organizers reserve the right to make changes to the regulations and dates. Updates and further information can be found on our homepage: filmgugger-filmfestival.jimdosite.com. Legal recourse is excluded.

Copyright Content: The content of our website may only be used for private purposes. Copyright laws must be observed. The reproduction, distribution, and any public performance of content from this website (in particular, the embedding of audio streams in third-party platforms or internet services) is only permitted with our written consent. This also applies to inclusion in electronic databases. It is clarified that the public performance of audio streams also requires the consent of GEMA and GVL.
