The International contest for free theme short and feature-length films is the heart of the festival. All countries all over the world are invited to take part in it sending a maximum of 30 minutes of length works for short films and minimum runtime of 60 minutes for feature-length films. A technique selection committee proceeds with a preliminary selection of the works submitted. A jury of experts will consider and judge the selected works and will award the following prizes: Best Short Film, Best Feature-Length FILM, Best Direction, Best Main Actor/Actress, Best Photography, Best Edit, and Best Screenplay for both short and feature-length films.

The international jury shall award the following prizes:

Best Screenplay of a Full-Length Feature Film

Best Director of a Full-Length Feature Film

Best Cinematography of a Full-Length Feature Film

Best Screenplay of a Short Feature Film

Best Director of a Short Feature Film

Best Cinematography of a Short Feature Film

Best Director of a Documentary Film

Best Cinematography of a Documentary Film

Best Character of a Documentary Film

All entries must be submitted digitally.

If you are submitting more than one entry, a separate submission is required for each film.

If the Project is selected please send any related press materials, including an electronic press kit, and photos to festivalfilmlab@gmail.com.

All genre films will be accepted.

The film production may be from the last 2 years.

Submissions in languages other than English and Italian must be subtitled in English.

Multiple entries are allowed. You can submit more than one film to the same category or different categories.

We will not screen your work online.

Only online submission will be accepted through the film festival platform Festhome.

All submissions are final. No refunds are provided.
After a film has been selected and the filmmaker is notified, the film will be listed on the festival website, under official selections.

The official language of the Festival is English.
Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule, FilmLab Festival reserves the right to make changes at any time, for any reason. FilmLab Festival will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in schedule.
Films can not be withdrawn from the festival program after being selected.

Each participant is responsible for the content of his/her work and for any possible copyright problems. The participant owns all rights concerning the usage of his/her work according to the regulations. The Festival Committee has no responsibility to third parties. The Festival Committee has the right to reject films if the content or technical quality does not correspond to the Festival conditions.
