With the aim to encourage the creation of meeting spaces for the world of medium-length films, as well as fostering interest in cinematographic creation, the Manzanares El Real City Council's Department of Culture organizes the fifth edition of the International Festival of Medium-Length Films of Manzanares El Real called FIMMER.

All those films with a duration between 30 and 60 minutes produced after January 1, 2025 may be submitted to the contest. And each author or producer may submit up to a maximum of two works.

Entries can be submitted online, through the festhome.com platform or by email to fimmerfestival@gmail.com, where the documentation required in the bases must be included, and where the technical characteristics of the files to send.

The deadline for receiving the files is open on july the 13th 2026 and will close on September the 15 2026.

Prix ​​en espèces: 600€

The Manzanares El Real International Medium-length Film Festival establishes three paid prizes and one spectial award:

Jury Prize: €250 for Best Medium-Length Film

Audience Award: €250 for Best Medium-length Film

Opera Prima Special Price: €100 for the Best Medium-length First Work

WeShort Special Award: distribution contract with WeShort and a suscription to the platform for the director

The awards ceremony and closing of the Festival will take place on November 15, 2026, in the 'El Rodaje' hall, in Manzanares el Real (Spain).

V INTERNATIONAL MEDIUM FILMS FESTIVAL OF MANZANARES EL REAL

CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Culture Department of the Manzanares El Real City Council announces the V International Medium-length Film Festival of Manzanares El Real, called FIMMER 2026. This Festival will be held in Manzanares El Real from November 13 to 15, 2026.

PURPOSE
The aim is to encourage the creation of meeting spaces in the world of medium-length films, as well as to promote interest in film creation.

PARTICIPANTS
All individuals or legal entities wishing to participate can submit their works, regardless of their physical or tax residence, without needing to be registered in Spanish territory.

CHARACTERISTICS
The Festival offers a competitive section, which will award two prizes, a special mention and for the first time, a special price for distribution:

• Jury Prize
• Audience Prize
• Special Mention for First Film
• WeShort Award

All films with a duration between 30 and 60 minutes (inclusive) that are completed after January 1, 2025, can be submitted for competition.Each author or production company may submit a maximum of two works.

SUBMISSION
To participate in the Festival, participants or production companies must register through one of the following methods:

The submission period will open on July 13, 2026, and close on September 15, 2026.

The information to be provided in the registration will be:

• Registration form (annex 1)
• Declaration (annex 2)
• If applying for First Film, responsible declaration (annex 3)• Film dossier• online link for viewing
A Selection Committee, designated by the Festival organization, will carry out the selection of the works that will participate in the competition.

REQUIREMENTS
Films must have a duration between 30 and 60 minutes.They must have been produced from January 1, 2025.

All short films whose dialogues are not in Spanish must include subtitles in Spanish.Once the selection for the competition is published, the short films selected to participate in the Fourth Edition of the International Short Film Festival of Manzanares el Real must provide the following material:

1. Digital support with the short film.It must be of sufficient quality to be projected on a big screen and occupy between 1 and 4 GB.

The following characteristics are accepted:
1.a. Container: Mov/Mp4, Codec: H.264
1.b. Resolution: 2K, 1080p, 720p.
1.c. Sound: PCM stereo or Dolby Digital 5.1

2. Trailer of the medium-length film in Mov or Mp4 (H.264) Full HD (1080)

3. Minimum of 3 frames and poster of the work in high-resolution digital format (300 ppi). The deadline for submitting this material for projection will be October 25, 2026.

SELECTION AND COMPETITION
The Organization will create a Selection Committee for all applications received. Once this is done, the selection will be communicated to the participants. Only selected participants will be contacted. This communication will take place, in any case, by October 15, 2026. Additionally, the list of selected participants will be published on the website of the Manzanares El Real Town Hall www.manzanareselreal.es

The medium-length films not selected for the 2026 edition will be potential candidates in the next edition of the Festival as long as they meet the criteria of the new call.

The organization will not make any payment to the director, producer, or distributor for screening their work at the Festival itself, nor for exhibition rights or any other concept.

The screenings will always be in the original version with subtitles in Spanish. The authors of the participating works give permission to the Festival organization to use parts of their works for promotional purposes of the Festival.

The authors of the awarded short films give permission to the Festival organization to screen their works in future editions or activities of the Festival.

The costs of shipping the works and their attached documents will be fully borne by the participating authors. Once a short film is selected to compete in the Festival, it cannot be withdrawn before its last screening. If, for reasons beyond the organization’s control, the Festival changes its dates or is not held, the organization will inform the participants as far in advance as possible.

TECHNICAL VALUATION COMMISSION
A technical commission will be established that will act as a jury for the evaluation of the works. The appointment of this commission will be the responsibility of the Organization. This Commission will be comprised of various professionals from the film industry and the cultural world and will be in charge of granting the awards.The jury's decision will be final.
