The Human Environment Care Film Festival (HECFF) is Canada's premier cultural event devoted exclusively to the exploration of Human-Environment care, Human rights issues, Environment protection, and a special section of this year (CoronaVirus and New World)through film.

Our competitive sections are:

Human-Environment
Environment protection (care)
Humanity and human rights
Special section:
Coronavirus and New World

Non-competitive section:
All submitted films include documentaries, features, and animated that are over 30 minutes length and related to the competition section will come to the non-competitive section.

Through Festhome, the following artists are encouraged to submit their work:

Filmmakers and Animators. Works should relate to Human-Environment care, Human rights issues, Environment protection, and a special section of this year (CoronaVirus and New World). As this is an art festival, creative endeavors are encouraged.

HECFF aims to:

• Advance and encourage debate and awareness of Human-Environment care, human rights issues, environmental issues, and a special section of this year (CoronaVirus and New World) amongst the broader community through creative media.

• Showcase and support Canadian and international artists who are concerned with Human-Environment care, Human rights issues, Environment protection, and a special section of this year (CoronaVirus and New World).

COVID-19 Notice: At the moment we cannot know if the festival will be held LIVE or not, but in any case, we will hold it. If the law won't allow for live screening, we will make an online screening of all the films with Q&A, live interviews with the directors, and live events through streaming platforms and all the awards will be given normally.

Rules and Conditions:

To submit a film, you must apply by Festhome.

All Films Under 30 minutes select for the Festival will be in Competition.

Our festival has no age limit and we are eager to see the festival-related films of all ages and races

To submit a film, you must have created the project yourself, own the rights, or have permission from the owner of the content to submit the film to us.

We accept Canadian and International shorts.

In the competitive section: Maximum film length 30 minutes (we have no minimum length).

Long films can participate in our non-competitive section. (Our competitive sector has no time limit.)

Non-english language films must have english subtitles.

Films will be selected and entrants will be notified via email by 20 October 2020. All correspondence will be done by email; no information will be provided over the phone.
Upon acceptance, filmmakers must provide high-resolution digital photographs, synopsis, credits, poster, or other press kits or promotional materials for each film. Filmmakers must also provide a copy of the film trailer (if applicable) and press screeners upon request.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide individualized feedback to filmmakers

Terms and Regulations:

After a film has been an official selection, the filmmaker will be notified.

The legal responsibility for the film goes back to the person presenting it, and the festival does not take any responsibility for copyright or other legal matters.

The festival can have a copy of the film in the festival's archives and library, as well as information and photos, posters and trailers provided by the participant, and two minutes of the participant's film in the festival's announcements and programs. Registration for the film at the festival means approval of this clause.
